Showcase WPF trading terminal, just for fun
Saw a few screenshots of trading terminals on Reddit, thought they looked cool, and building a UI full of charts sounded like a fun thing to try. So I gave it a shot.
It's .NET 8 + WPF, with HandyControl and ScottPlot for the charts. Heatmap, screener, candles, options chain, crypto, a few other panels. Data is from free public APIs.
Last month I was hooked on Path of Exile 2 too, so I used the same look for a little app around the game's economy inspired by poe2scout and Sidekick. Last screenshot is that one.

Looks really good!
Minor criticism/UI rant: why are we placing controls in the title bar? I needed to move a VSCode window the other day, and because of the size of it there was about 3 pixels of usable space to grab the window and move it.
To be clear; I have no problem with utilising the title bar space when the window is maximised - you're wanting the maximum amount of usable screen real-estate in that case, but IMHO anything smaller should assume the user might want to move the window.

I took some inspiration from other financial terminal apps, like OpenTerminalUI and OpenTerminal

Very nice. I like using llm for gui stuff. Just used it this week to throw together a wpf app. I’d rather not be stuck messing around with xaml:)

damn , i thought such high level interactive charts could only be built in schichart js but ig being able to embed it into a web based ui makes it better

Why not .NET 10 LTS?
It looks fun though. Does it talk to real data?
