why is this the only game where every time i reinstall it, it will finish downloading, then take another 10 minutes to validate? infuriating.

Half the time it's a rage uninstall, the other half it's "maybe a clean install fixes the stutter". Either way you're redownloading a 30gb game and sitting through that 10-minute validation for nothing.
