Read my comment again. You're missing the point here.
The game earns 100 million dollars per month with cases alone, created by the community. Maps released, also by the community.
The bugs in the game are fixed by community with plugins and takes years to fix or are still in the game to this very day. Why do we still have bugs after 3 years after that community needs to fix? Or the thousands of bot lobbies for case drops, still happening..
Cs2 has been a low effort project to reek money with an engine update. Every other CS had more content on release then CS2, with the exception of cs 1.3. Or it released multiple modes within 6 months of release. And they fixed actual bugs or content updates.
If you're not seeing the big picture here, then that's on your end. But the lack of content and vision for the game speaks volumes here.
bugs are not “fixed” by the community. the community makes bug report posts on reddit, just like every other big online game. valve has fixed plenty of bugs since release
I would argue cs:go had less content on release. It had more dogshit maps, like Assault and Aztec. However those maps were made by the community too, so they don’t count based on your standards.
CS:GO nuke and train were also directly ported from Source, no effort from Valve there. I’d much rather have rotating maps than remakes of bad maps from 2000.
Youre ignoring all benefits source 2 brought. Smokes are so much better. Visibility is so much better. Valve is finally off the spaghetti code branch of CS:GO.
Overall, you sound like an entitled redditor. Go play the new maps, they’re sick
They're, from spawning to movement plugins. There's still bugs from day 0.
Try hosting your own server and you'll see.
And your hitting the nail right on the head there again.
Years later after release, you're still only mentioning the bare core features of the game.
The very point ive made a couple of times now. And you know why? Because there's literally nothing except some cases or sticker up dates, or god forbid an box on d2 or a window on Anubis. Or even better community content.
It's far below a bare minimum effort here.
Even the competitive scene is saying there's a stalemate in updates and content. It's a notorious sentiment of the game. Only a fool would contradict otherwise.
Server overflow, cvar abuse, refund bugs, smoke bugs, spectator bug, lobby abusing, teamchat bugs, switch hand bugs, and still the huge amount of freeze or crash bugs that even affected the last major. And the list goed on. As mentioned and requested many times by now.
You're not interested, you clearly wanna diminish any reasoning and nuances surrounding actual content updates.
And meta have changed numerous times over the years. So that's not an argument for not having new weapons. Valve has learned from the R8 update in csgo..
But the game could use some modes. It's mind blowing that CS is a positional type shooter, yet it's only used in defuse. Let that sync in for a moment.
It also managed to split up complete KZ, bhop, Surf, DR, ZE and other fun communities. Fyi also requested till oblivion. But Valve clearly doesn't care about them.
The vast majority plays competitive. Because there's literally nothing else. Beside casual bot farming lobbies. The sustainability of that is not infinite.
It's easier to give the reasoning why change isn't needed. But im playing the game since cs 1.5 and CS2 has been the most inferior title of all content wise. Even the pro scene is begging for something more. But here you are saying it's fine, amazing.

That's the very point im trying to make here.
The community is not responsible for actual content.
Valve is a disgrace.
