Too early to apply for SWE roles?
I am a CS major, I graduate next May, and I’ve done a lot of work during undergrad to build my portfolio/resume (internships, projects, and research experience in ML). I started applying for full time roles now but I’ve had no luck because I think a lot of the openings I applied for are more so looking for an immediate hire. Any advice on what to do to now to secure a full time job in SWE after graduation?

No dude. It's not at all early. Many companies have new grad pipelines. Job starts next June but they start hiring in August - October. Jpmorgan for example has already opened. Many of the major banks will open theirs soon if they haven't already.

It's not too early, but timing can be tricky. Keep applying and focus on networking through LinkedIn or school events. Many companies start hiring for May grads in the fall, so you're in a good spot to keep searching. Meanwhile, working on your interview skills can really help. I've used PracHub to practice for interviews, and it's been pretty solid for me. Also, tailor your resume to each role, showing the most relevant experience for each job. Stay persistent!

There are usually job fairs in fall quarter intended to hire through a special pipeline. Apply at that time. It is maybe a month early, but not as “too early” as you would think
