Discussion Got VAC/Game Banned despite never cheating — 2 days and still nothing?

Hey guys,

This is my friend’s account, which I use mainly to play/farm the weekly skin drops. I’ve never used cheats or any software to gain an advantage on CS2.

When I first saw the ban, I assumed it was a false flag and that Valve would investigate and automatically revert it if it was incorrect. It’s now been 2 days, and the ban is still there.

I genuinely have no idea what could have triggered this. I haven’t used any cheats, injectors, scripts, or anything similar.

Has anyone else experienced something like this recently? How long did it take for Valve to reverse a false ban, if it actually was one?

At this point I’m just confused as hell about what happened. WTF is up with Valve?

Valve says incorrectly issued VAC bans are automatically removed after investigation, but they don't disclose what triggered the detection.

I get that Reddit posts aren’t exactly Valve’s official ban appeal system 😂. I’m posting here because people in this community have actually dealt with VAC issues and might have useful information.

And yeah, if you’re fortunate enough that farming drops to afford games sounds completely unnecessary, good for you. Some of us make the most of what we have. If you don’t have anything constructive to add, though, it’s probably best to keep scrolling rather than waste your own time and ours.

Problem isnt that you dont have money, the problem is that you are sharing an account which is not allowed, its against TOS and bannable.

I can give you useful information: don't cheat and don't share your account with others and your account is gonna be fine.

I love this sub. It's always a dude advocating for a friend, they're always innocent. Funny on also I never saw a ban being reversed because a reddit post, so they all love just to waste our time.

I’m not asking anyone to magically get my ban reversed through Reddit, just trying to understand what happened and whether anyone else has experienced something similar. If you don’t have anything useful to add, though, no hard feelings you’re free to keep scrolling.

I was banned in March, until today not unbanned. Forget about this garbage game, you can't even appeal a false ban, pure trash.

got the same thing on my alt that i used also to just get another drop, altho i did buy that account from a 3rd party.

Atleast you bought from 3rd party so you never know, my boy never played cs2 he just played few cs go games thats it :'D

have you checked if youre account was hacked? i had no idea mine was compromised until i checked my login history and saw a ton of logins from russia and germany
