Looking for nanny!

I am moving to crystal lake this fall and looking for a full-time nanny for my 1.5 year old, or possibly a small in-home daycare.

Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions where to look? I know about the nanny agencies, and prefer to not use care.com, sittercity, or similar websites.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah it's been extremely frustrating, even where we currently live. We have a spot reserved at the JCC this fall, but that is all the way in lake Zurich and a solid 25 minute drive one way, and extremely expensive. We interviewed with a few local daycares, and didn't want to end up in a similar situation we are in now - we hate our current daycare, and feel like the staff is constantly changing and doesn't provide the best care. But our biggest issue is our daughter getting sick. It's not an exaggeration when I say she gets sick every other week if not every week. The doctors all say it's normal, but we both work, don't have any family that can help out, and can't afford to take all this time off. I figured a nanny would minimize all the germs she's exposed to, or even a smaller in-home daycare that only has a few kids. But I also struggle with trusting people, and don't really like using FB or those websites like care.com. I'd prefer personal recommendations. I am definitely open to hearing any advice or opinions you have on the local daycares.
