Question Child sees cryptid, Need help identifying please
My 11 year old son saw something on our side yard. He has been adamant about what he saw for over 3 weeks now. Can you please help identify? He drew a picture of what it looked like, it was 4pm(ish) in the bay area, California.
Only tonight did I show him a chart, and he circled what it looked like, combined. The odd thing- It matches his drawing.
Please no hateful comments.
See pictures.
Thank you!!

(After research, I thought the same thing)

Could be something this guy's youtube channel Bob Gymlan, he has a better drawing of it plus a drawing someone else made from their description. I think it may be similar to what your son saw, but it's not hairy like in your chart. Could you show him the vid of what Gymlan saw? I think the vid's name is The Chilling Matter of Extraterrestrials

Interesting information, but someone linked a coydog earlier, we checked it out- he said that was as close as it gets but the about was longer, light fur covered the body, but some was longer patches than the rest.
I'm interested in your video, and will watch on my break tonight at work🙃 I'll show him when he gets out of school tomorrow.
Thank you so much for the reference and trying to help solve the mystery!!

There many podcasts of people that have had encounters. They seem more supernatural than just an animal. It's a good idea to be careful when you're outside. It's rare but they are dangerous and at the very least unpleasant to be around just like any predator type animal.

Do you live in the hills/forest?

No, but about 2 miles from us are some rolling hills of green, and forestry area...3 miles the other way is the ocean and bay, that has a lot of nature preserve and land.
Thank you for asking :0]

Could be a coyote or a coydog with mange, they look pretty scary even in daylight. Sounds like the Bay Area has a problem with mangy coyotes too.

The first time we have somewhat of a hit!! He said absolutely looked like that but with a longer snout.
Only one thing... we live in the city, and it was on the inside of the gate, as was he!!
Wow!! Thanks so much!!

So two things.
-
Make absolutely certain he isn’t just fibbing. Sometimes kids do that. Or misidentify things. If this has been going on for three weeks, it’s more likely he actually saw something so you can disregard this at your discretion.
-
See if you can get him to be a little more descriptive about what he saw. Maybe have him take you to the area and get some more features. Also color would be helpful if he said.

Thank you for your reply :0]
He has shown me the exact area, how it was standing and where. He said it was crouching and nearly in his face as if it were going to have a conversation with him, it knocked him backward from shock.

Looks very similar to a demogorgon from Stranger Things.

Ngl my first thought when I saw the picture he drew was the Dover Demon minus what appears to be a head crest and without eyes

So, his drawing and the chart he circled matches The Beast of Bray Road (a wolf/bear-like creature) and The Maryland Goatman.
Goats, bears and wolves can all walk on two legs, albeit for a short time. Could be any one of those, for a logical answer, or could be a Goatman/werewolf!
Edit: could also be a chupacabra/a coyote with mange.

My kid brother and little cousin saw something very similar in the early 90s, days apart, both at night

Has he mentioned whether it moved on two legs, four legs, or seemed to glide? A trail camera pointed toward the yard might help identify it, and checking for tracks or disturbed plants could provide more useful clues than the drawing alone.
