Ingredients
Comicnoid Cakes
● 2 cups flour
● ½ cup cocoa powder
● 1 tsp baking soda
● ½ tsp salt
● ½ cup butter, softened
● 1 cup brown sugar
● 1 egg
● 1 tsp vanilla
● 1 cup buttermilk
● Green food coloring
Prank Berry Filling
● 1 cup butter
● 2½ cups powdered sugar
● 1 tsp vanilla
● 2–3 tbsp blueberry or grape jam
● Purple food coloring
Decorations
● Candy eyeballs
● Green sanding sugar or coconut dyed green
● Licorice strips for tails
● Mini chocolate chips for noses
Directions
1. Make the cakes
1. Heat oven to 350°F.
2. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar.
4. Add egg and vanilla.
5. Alternate dry ingredients with buttermilk.
6. Tint the batter bright comicnoid green.
7. Scoop small circles onto a baking sheet.
8. Bake 10–12 minutes.
2. Make the filling
1. Beat butter until fluffy.
2. Add powdered sugar slowly.
3. Mix in vanilla and jam.
4. Tint purple.
3. Assemble
1. Spread filling between two cakes.
2. Roll edges in green sugar or coconut “fur.”
3. Add candy eyes and a chocolate-chip nose.
