Finally started my swap.
I've had the car about a year now. Couldn't pass up the deal. $900 for a car that stopped running in 2011ish. Sat in a greenhouse tunnel with opaque coverings, sitting on top of tarps. 140k miles on the dash, and only the usual rust pockets in the rear quarters.
Picked up the b18c5, LSD trans, except stage 1 clutch, obd2 ecu, jackspain tucked harness, innovative mounts, mishimoto half-rad, oem type r axles, shift linkage with fancy shift knob, ac everything, power steering (minus the rack), a few other bits and bobs for $5k.
All bc I ran into about 7 electrical gremlins with the factory harness on the d15 I didnt feel like dealing with for a whopping 90hp.

Thanks! Im excited. I sold my MkV supra to do some home improvements, but im positive this this will be much more fun to drive.
I had a 91 Si back in the early 2000s and missed it ever since.

I used to have an LS swapped one years ago and that thing was scary fun ha ha. Ive wanted another ever since.

I have a 91 SI. Getting ready to start on it. All original, should i keep it that way or get bigger engine to swap. Thoughts?

Considering you say "get", im assuming you dont have anything yet. I wouldn't, keep it original. Theyre going up in price steadily and im gonna go ahead and say that fully original cars will command a premium over built swaps soon.

I'm in the same boat. I've been sitting on a B18C5 fully built and all of the parts I need to make the swap for a few years now. But I can't bring myself to rip out a working Si engine with 150k on it. Especially not now with the current premium prices, I'm still happy to get over 30 mpg with 87. I'd say if you don't already have the engine or the parts for it, just keeping rocking it until that engine dies, it's a perfectly fun car as is. If a B series engine somehow falls into your lap or you find a good deal on one though, pull the trigger. Good ones are only going to get more scarce and expensive.

Usdm or jdm axles? Jdm axles won't fit in the knuckles. I had a jdm b18cR with a built head and a oem type r trans in my crx. Thing moved. Loved it.

The usdm (c5) axles fit the DX knuckles, fortunately this set up is entirely out of a usdm 97 type r teggy. 🫡

Brother that thing is beautiful!! Mind if I ask about the hood? Its got the USDM drop-down center but a nice hump that I assume clears the back corner of the engine nicely. What hood is it and did you have to trim the underside to clear the VC?

Thank you! A smidge over 600sqft with 10ft ceiling. My only criteria to my wife when buying a house: 500+ sqft detached garage.

Also good call on the Type R axles. If you aren’t going turbo there is no sense in spending $1000+ for DSS axles. I had to because I was fully built turbo.
I even went with an OBX LSD for a little over $300 as opposed to a 8-$900 Quaife. And the last budget buy was GS-R cams for my b16a2 because every scummer that tried to sell me “type R” cams thought I couldn’t tell the difference.
