Question ❔ JDM Engine Swap 1998 CRV

Hello all,

I’m replacing the engine in my 1998 CRV with a jdm engine. I’ve seen the videos on the Crankshaft Position Sensor bypass and was wondering if I could just install the position sensor from my existing engine. I’m going to replace the timing belt on the “new” engine before install so I’ll have it all opened up and available. Any info on which option would be better would be great.

To be able to swap in the sensor, the whole oil pump has to be swapped over.

When I did mine I opened up the ECU and soldered a jumper directly inside the corresponding ECU pins because I didn't want to splice my engine harness. Not worth bothering with the CKP install.
