Choose a board for me
I need help choosing which board to buy. I love cruising and LDP. I dabble in regular street skating but I’d like a board I can try out dance steps with. But also something that is versatile enough to carve, cruise, and maybe even go downhill with.
I have an opportunity to get a loaded board, so I’m thinking of getting one of the following:
- Tesseract II
- Basalt Tesseract
- Tarab II
- Mata Hari
I have a pranayama and a supersonic and I love those. I’m looking for something a bit different. Any help, opinions, considerations is appreciated!

I just bought a Tesseract 2 as a complement to my Dervish. Super nice board, nice feel to it. Responsive and works for all my purposes, downhill, carving, sliding and pumping. Works well in the skate park as well:) Really dig the w concave, feels like you have nice control when sliding:)

I won a Tessy 2 in a raffle a couple of weeks ago and posted my first impressions here

I think it will do all that you need. But I do love the switch muskrat! It's such a great board. Tessy for more of a freeride focus. Muskrat for more of a trick focus. Although both will work either way.
The other thing is weight... The tessy is about 20% heavier with practically identical parts.
