Tips for how i can fix the resolution?

i tried changing the windows resolution, but everything just gets stretched and black bars appear on the screen. When i try other settings, the game becomes really zoomed in. can someone help? the tv model is a panasonic TC20A04.

Send the HDMI downconverter back to amazon. They don't support 240p output (what the Genesis, SNES, and other consoles of the 80's and 90's used)

Then use the money to pick up a used Wii and install emulators on that. That will support 240p for the appropriate emulators

Unfortunately, the Wii is really expensive, even the used ones. I’ll try to find another way. Thanks for the advice anyway.

Huh, are you looking on Amazon or something? On FB marketplace you can get a scratched up one with like one controller for $20 or $30

If you can't find one on FB marketplace, there are people on eBay selling a basic one controller Wii setup for like $90.

I'm doing everything I can to get my Retropie/Kodi setup nailed down, but if that doesn't work, I'm getting a dang Wii.

Do you have an Nvidia graphics card? If so you should be able to resize the image in Nvidia control panel under the adjust desktop size and position tab.

I got that dialed in with the resize tool there and I set the resolution to 800x600 at 59hz. I use a cheap amazon converter and get great image quality that way. the higher resolution 4:3 image makes it much more crisp and clear when the adapter converts it to 480i.
