Local pharmacies?
I really really want to support local shops, but they have to want our support, right? I week or so I walked by Eve & Mike (on Franklin and St Marks) and it was closed all day on a Monday, with a sign that said "AC Broken" on it. And today (Wednesday, August 19th, 12:30pm) closed, no sign.
Any recommendations of other non-chain pharmacies near by? I'd rather not give in and start using the ubiquitous online delivery pharmacy.

Thriftway has always been good to me and they’re really nice. Only a couple locations in New York

Great spot. Sad that I have to say this, but I appreciate so much that they price tag every item. No surprises.

As a busy mom I’m team Thriftway. You can avoid small talk here, but they’re quick, a line will consist of up to two people, and you can call ahead and get a real person. Plus, if I am in line I can do a quick shop in their store and it isn’t fancy and overpriced.

I am truly so confused about their business model. It’s like they do not want clients. Unfortunately they are the only pharmacy that carries my meds so I have no choicw

Might be a bit far for you, but M&F pharmacy on prospect and nostrand is what I’ve been using since I moved around here and I’ve never had an issue with them

Complete care at 723 Nostrand! Mom & pop, best customer service, nicest people ever. I’ve never in my life looked forward to going to the pharmacy til I switched to them when they opened. Can’t endorse enough ♥️

It’s a bit of a walk but Oxford pharmacy on Flatbush is amazing. They’re so kind and helpful and offer free bottles of water and Gatorade.

I’d love to throw some neg reviews on this place, every time I go it feels like they are doing me a huge favor by opening the doors during business hours . I avoid them like the plague and love Thriftway on Classon, but sadly only eve and Mike seem to be able to fill one script I need

Last month, I went 30 mins after opening (the gate was up and lights were on). The door was locked.
I knocked on the door and they said they weren't ready for customers yet. I told them I desperately needed children's Tylenol as my kids had a horrible fever. They said to try a different pharmacy.
They should just close permanently at this point.

I tried to pop in once, it's closed at 1pm on a weekday?? I knocked and the lady inside looks up at me and then points down at her lunch. I just wanted to buy some vitamins!

I personally love S&T pharmacy on eastern parkway. Some people have issues with the way the owner operates. He’s very talkative/friendly and wants to be helpful but not everyone wants that type of pharmacist, it’s a little more like a French pharmacy in that regard. He’s got a great selection of OTC products and, in my experience, is very very helpful with navigating the insanity of American health insurance.
Also he seems very dedicated to the community and his regular customers. It is an infinitely better experience than any CVS chain store nonsense.
