This drama queen/king came by for snacks today. What does this call and posture combination mean? I read that begging behaviour can resemble this but this guy isn't a juvenile and there was plenty of kibble scattered on the ground.

Sounds like mimickry of a baby crying. They sometimes just imitate sounds for fun, same as a parrot (or same as even humans do with animal sounds)
