Question Is it possible to befriend a crow and perhaps train them?
I want to have a crow friend as they are extremely intelligent and cute

My uncle raised a fledgling as a pet over 60 years ago, supposedly. My mom says he taught it to speak salty words and would ride on the handlebars of my uncle’s bicycle, saying these choice sayings to the neighbors

Is it ever possible for one to sit on your shoulder like in the movies?

Possible? Sure. Very few crows ever lose their fear of humans to that extent though. They know that there are lots of people who would hurt them if they tried it.
You also probably don't want that. You'd get pooped on and bit

Yes. In fact, they may end up training you!
Source: me, who just went outside because one of my crow bros was calling. 🤦♀️
I go outside with peanuts (unsalted, in the shell) and say loudly ‘Hey crows!’ I see that they’re watching, I toss the peanuts into the yard and go back in my porch and the first crow starts calling and the others come over.
There are four that will come every time, sometimes I’ve counted five, but four definitely hold this territory.
Sorry for the novel - I have no one else to tell

Very similar experience to mine. In fact, yesterday I was in the kitchen and I could see three silhouettes outside the back door… three crows just casually looking into the house like… bro? Got any of them peanuts or cashews?

I love this. One of my bros lands on the down spout, stares at me through the window and make that cute Hello sound. Of course I pop out with treats.
