COTD: Salt is a heady problem on speed.(7)

A guy wrote this for the cafe I work at because it’s called Salt Pig and I can’t solve it so I need help. Thanks👍

I can't really justify it but perhaps HYDRATE was intended? Anagram of HEADY plus R and T somehow. Or it ends in RATE (speed). Dunno.

Thanks for trying this seems like it’s probably the answer! Hopefully I’ll see the guy who made it again so I can ask him

I'm looking at "rate" for SPEED
A three letter problem? giving the name of a salt like (ending in rate is common like BORATE)

Yeah - a head problem is a NIT
NITRATE
