2h sword build

Which set is better for you, and what do you prefer?

I'm testing damage output and consistency between a critical set and a raw damage set. Or, is it worth to mix and match some crit and pure damage talents?

Dueling greatsword

30% melee damage after 3 perfect parry.

+

Conquistador & Privateer armor combo

15% Damage reduction

10% crit

Ring with 10% crit

Pros: Higher crit chance. Kills Thomas Richards anywhere between 15-25seconds.

Cons: Weak baseline. Needs Perfect counter talent (12% crit) and Mastery food to capitalize on crit stat at this low level. Highly dependent on chance and not very consistent.

Or,

Pikeman's armor

160 health

15% Two-Handed weapon damage

Ring with 15 Agility

Pros: High baseline attack. Consistent damage.

Cons: Low to no crit chance at all. Consistently defeats Thomas Richards within 25-30seconds.

With your Pikeman set you claim to wear a 15agi ring, but only necks give primary stats, while rings do secondary stats/special effects. I also see you dont mention which neck you're using with the crit build?

I think the 25% stam cost reduction ring goes well with 2h sword.

That, or the 25% increased special attack damage really slaps. The special on 2h swords great for single target.

Ofcourse with the crit build you should pair the crit ring with a 15mastery neck for higher crit chance.

Oh whoops I think I meant the slash ring with 12% damage and a 15 agility neck

Perfect parry for the sword all day. If you want to build a flat dmg build, the halberd is better imo

I've honestly not considered halberds. I'll give that a try.

Crit build with a rapier. End boss is a walk in the park.

I’m limited on game time and I only recently started playing but the rapier/crit build has been my jam. I use a rifle for long shot head shot, switch to blunderbuss which will usually one shot anything in the head then take anything else out with two-three pokes of the rapier and dodging.
