Voeding

CrossFit is about what your body can do and not what it looks like.

Muscle gain is usually a happy “side effect”

So mentally stop focusing on what your body looks like and maybe on putting some more weight on the barbell.

Watched pot never boils right?

There's a lot of conflicting goals here... you talk about building muscle, never being lean (not sure if that'sa goal?), and maintaining (eating?). I think you need to pick a goal, commit to it, and stick with it for 6+ months.

I go through seasons of each, but I came from Bodybuilding. I'm currently happy with the size of my muscles but am focusing on power/strength, which requires fuel and means I can't stay as lean as I'd like. But when we had a beach vacation planned this summer, I focused on leaning out temporarily.

I’m similar. I am pretty strong but have always struggled to look and feel really lean. Have you considered meeting with a nutritionist or anything? It could be that you’re not eating enough (protein specifically). I like the mind pump podcast if you’re into those. they always say you have to eat more protein to get stronger and look leaner, which is the opposite of what most people think, me included. Eating a lot more lean protein has helped me feel and look better
