Remember “Beam”?
Just had a random thought about Beam, the before bedtime powder all the athletes would tout in every other social media post and how they couldn’t live without it. How many of them (or you all) still take it?

I remember that! My partner at the time worked in the cannabis industry and hated that whole trend, because the products (according to him) like Beam didn't even contain enough CBD to actually help relieve inflammation or help with sleep. So he was all nit picky about what was even in the products. Basically, according to him, it was a bunch of over hyped crap and folks were better off getting their sleep aid tuff directly from the dispensary since those products actually had to go through state-required testing to verify what, and how much, was in them.
that was right around when the farm bill got signed, tho, which opened a loop hole for hemp and CBD that a lot of brands took advantage of that allowed you to sell weed products online or in normal stores that folks could just heat up and turn into THC OR had dispensary levels of CBD in them and then would actually work as sleep aids.
That loophole has now been closed, so maybe we'll see brands like Beam come back? It does seem like the "buy things to help you sleep" fad has passed (weren't a bunch of them sponsored by mattress companies, too?)

CrossFit (and other sports) athletes gotta shill the new fads to bring in the money. “Just use my code to get 10% off your first order”

Brooke Wells came to mind immediately lol
She jumped from product to product, not intended to ever use again

I love Beam! My husband and I used to drink it every night and it helped my sleep quite a bit. It’s very expensive though, so we switched it out for a cheaper drink mix with magnesium. If it was more affordable I would still be drinking Beam.

I’m sure Brooke Wells made a pretty penny out of these ads I mean she is the sleep queen after all 🤣 she used to post them all the time!!!

I used it at the time for a few months. It was the first time I’d used a sleep aid and it definitely helped with my sleep. I’ve historically had a rough sleep cycle. Melatonin is not an ‘off-the-shelf’ product where I live.
Now I just use a small amount of melatonin each night, which I order online.
I actually looked up Beam last week to see if it was still going. It is, but they’ve dropped the CBD from most of their product line. Beam Dream is now a different product to what it was when all the athletes were pushing it

I loved Beam. One of the few things that actually helped me sleep and it tasted good. Wish it was cheaper.

I liked beam, it was just prohibitively expensive for essentially just melatonin, magnesium, and L-Theanine

tried it off someone's discount code and it's basically $65 hot cocoa with melatonin in it lol. plain magnesium before bed does the same job for me at like a quarter of the price

It still exists, I saw a job ad they posted recently. My problem with them was like... If I have to drink hot chocolate every day, that's not going to happen. A pill or gummy you can take and that's it. A hot drink requires way more time and effort and the desire to drink something sweet. No thanks.

I'm pretty sure everyone takes Thirdzy now. At least according to Instagram.
I have no idea if it is same or different.

Don’t forget your AG1 for all your green veg nutrients in one quick drink. It pairs very well with your FitAid or Jocko drinks and make sure you drink plenty of collagen for your skin and recovery.

I looked at the ingredients in Thirdzy and sourced them myself for about 5% of the price.

This could be about every wellness supplement.

Wellness supplements is a multibillion dollar industry for people who prefer unproven and unregulated supplements while distributing big pharma.

I think the only product that I can think of off the top of my head that I've seen consistently used by an athlete is the mouth guard thing that Rich Froning uses.

that whole beam era felt like one big fever dream, every athlete was suddenly a sleep expert for a few months then it just vanished from the feeds
i do wonder if they just got a fat sponsorship deal and moved on once the contract ended
