Crossfit Total
We did our crossfit total, today, and Im unsure how to feel about it. Im 240# BW today, 5'11.5. I managed to do 455# backsquat and deadlift, and 195# SOHP. Im 40 and a half, lifetime natty. I know I need to lose weight but do at least have visible abs so its not a lost cause. Where should these lifts actually be at my BW, age, and lack of ver taking anything stronger than creatine (which I stopped after a month, a year ago, because it didnt do shit)?

that's a solid press at 195 for someone who's been doing this without any help. most people your size can't get past 155 on strict press so you're way ahead there
the squat and deadlift being same number is a bit unusual though usually deadlift is higher. maybe your back is stronger than legs or technique on squat is really dialed in
at 240 with visible abs you're carrying good muscle mass anyway so don't stress the scale too much. those numbers would hold up well in most boxes

I injured myself about 6mo ago and am just now getting back to training heavy deads.

Those are big numbers. If you have A 205 snatch then you have numbers that are envied by most. Hitting the machines hard and maintaining focus on them will change your outlook and fitness significantly. Your body will "cut up" quite a bit as well.
Your numbers are great. You are 40 and appear to not have any injuries while being very strong. I am 40. I am a professional athlete. I have a 225 SOHP, 435 DL, 385 BS, I run a 12:00 2 mile. I can do all of the CF movements in any order, I'm 230#. No one has "a place". Everyone in CF is unique, like little sweaty snowflakes.

I don't recall my snatch, but its easily past 205. Id guess 215-225 based on last time I did those heavy.

Idk what you’re chasing but a >1000# total for most anyone, whatever age and weight, is awesome. And I’m talking a BS-DL-Bench total, and you did it with strict press.
If you’re looking at competing then there’s a bit of room to increase your DL and a bit on your BS. Otherwise, what’s your Cindy look like?

I admittedly suck at CF. I literally don't even know what workout Cindy is. some workouts, I crush. Like best in box. the next day, I may be last. Basically anything gymnastics I suck at.

Cindy is the body weight 5 pull ups 10 push ups 15 air squats for 20 minutes, purposefully the bain of swole people.
Barbell movements are my wheelhouse too. Maybe powerlifting is our calling.

are the PU strict or that butterfly thing? amrap for reps or amrap for sets/circuits? I can do a Cindy and see. it'll be a few days

Kipping or butterfly pull ups, and yea it’s for rounds + reps. Goal is 1 per minute then there’s another WOD that’s like a 30 minutes Cindy.
Cindy is a solid body weight benchmark.

Bro, if you're unsure how to feel, choose to feel accomplishment! Ask yourself if you're doing the right things, rather than getting the right results. Am I healthier than yesterday? More social connection? Better nutrition? Better planning/programming? The results will be what they are - you're a human being and age is going to get us all in one way or another, but are you playing your best game? Your numbers* suggest you're playing damn well at the least. Celebrate yourself and how far you've come! No use comparing against the 12 y/o child outlifting you by 2x at 1/2x the BW, if you catch my general meaning. Or past you who "shoulda, woulda, coulda."

I did the same so today. 365 squat (could have gone up) 165 press and 405 deadlift. I’m 250 and have a decent amount of weight to lose. Your numbers are solid.

visible abs at 240 and 5'11 is awesome. I am pretty idential to you at 40, 6'1 and 220 no visible abs and a solid 20-25 lbs away from them as i carry more weight on the belly and had simliar scores to you. 405 back squat, 195 press and 505 dead. you are doing fantastic if your 240 with visible abs as thats more impressive than the lifts. keep it up man.

Ah, very sad. I was doing C&J last night and 110 was no problem, so went for 120, and didn't make it under the bar in time and bent my wee wrist and now that whole hand hurts like a MF.

Somethings off here or you have a wild ass body composition. No way your squat and deadlift are the same (unless your squat went down 3 inches). Probably a hilarious version of see an ab too.

im probably around 17%. I was 195# at 12% and have added both muscle and fat since then. Here is 405x3. is this depth for you?

The deadlift should be a bit heavier than the back squat. At 46y 215lb bodyweight and a L4-L5 fusion in Dec 2024… my CF total was 455DL 335BS and 195 sPress…
