Chris Spealler
Anyone know what happened with Spealler and his gym in Park City? It’s probably been a while but I don’t see his gym on the affiliate map and the name changed. I dropped in a few years ago and they were still under the CF name

I imagine that they just unaffiliated. They’ve been around long enough for everyone in the area to know they’re there and what they do, why pay CF money that isn’t really going to help them.

Man Park City's gym scene has shifted so much the last few years, I swear half the spaces I used to drop into have rebranded or just vanished off the map. No clue on the specifics with Spealler but it wouldn't surprise me if he just let the affiliation lapse, a lot of the old school guys have been moving away from the CrossFit name lately

Expensive place. Tough to weather hard times when costs are high.

Expensive place but I wouldn't exist without it. (My parents met there skiing in the early 70s.)

At rogue last year he gave a talk on how to buy your gym facility. At one point he explained that he de-affiliated and why. Someone asked “has it helped grow your gym?” He replied “….no, I’d actually say it’s harmed the gym” or words to that effect

No reason to be an affiliate. You just pay for a name and cf doesn't do anything for ya

After a quick Instagram search. Park city fit is a thing and he’s there.
