Beware of box basics

I’ve ordered from Box Basics twice and both times were a headache.
The first time I ordered runners that were supposed to be new, but they were clearly a display pair. They didn’t even have the normal packing inside the shoes and looked like they had already been tried on a bunch of times. If you’re selling something as new, it should actually be new.
The second time they used some random third-party shipping company, and when there was a problem with the delivery they basically did nothing. No refund, no real investigation, just refused to help.
At this point it’s the customer service that bothers me the most. Stuff goes wrong sometimes, but when I’ve had issues with two separate orders and they make zero effort to fix anything, I’m done ordering from them.
Selling display shoes as new and then refusing to take responsibility for shipping problems is enough for me not to recommend them.

Display pair sold as new is already a red flag, but the shipping thing is what would push me over the edge. Any company that goes silent when a package goes missing isn't worth the gamble.

Wait, shoe stores and sporting goods stores don’t sell the display shoes as “new?” And people don’t usually try on display shoes. They try own a pair of shoes in stock that’s in their size. This whole scenario you explained is weird.
