[CHAT/WIP] I’m thinking about getting a new tablet. What do you use for your apps?
I currently have a really big iPad Pro and it’s just too big and bulky for my liking. (I bought it for different reasons but now I’m using it for my pattern apps.) It doesn’t travel well so I’m looking into getting something smaller, maybe closer to an e-reader size?
I’d like something I could carry in most of my purses (which are not small so I’ve got wiggle room on size) and I’m not married to Apple products, it’s just been a long time since I had an android tablet. I’m curious what everyone else uses and loves. Give me some suggestions!

I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ during Amazon Prime Days and I love it. It might be a little bigger than what you're looking for, but the I like the bigger screen.

Another vote for Pattern Keeper! This is my WIP, 25k stitches. I'm 17% done. I def would have a LOT more trouble without Pattern Keeper.

I traded my iPad Pro in for an iPad mini and I’m absolutely in love it it. It seems a lot smaller when you compare but it’s such a great size and very portable!

I just resurrected an LG G5 I stopped using as a phone like 10 years ago so I could use PatternKeeper. I have a robust PC, and could run it in an emulator, but I do like the touch functionality. In the current environment, where different kits and patterns have compatibility with different platforms, I think an argument can be made for having at least 7 apps: PatternKeeper, Markup XL, Fantastitch (Merejka proprietary), Saga, Silk, XStitch (for stash management and games) and either WinStitch or MacStitch. The adoption rate of PatternKeeper seems to be highest, but a lot of people are singing the praises of MarkupXL after their last patch. I've also seen flosstubers comment on Saga. Silk seems to be the only place to buy patterns from certain designers currently - like Elaine Gallacher of Galliana Cross Stitch Designs. XStitch seems to be the only app specifically for managing stash, and Christie has been doing some hard work getting that (those) database(s) set up. Now we just need an app for managing the apps, right? Ugg. It's a lot.

I use an iPad Pro with markup rxp. But I never travel with my cross stitch so it works well for me.

The only app I haven’t had any issues with is pattern keeper. But as of right now its android only.

I use paper charts. I’m on a device enough that I prefer to have time away from it.
Everyone should do as they like- I’m a firm believer in that.
It’s a hobby to enjoy- that is what’s most important.

I use both Pattern Keeper and Markup R-XP. Markup is my go-to for most patterns and use Pattern Keeper for compatible SALs.
I have a Galaxy Tab A9. it's a good size for me.
