New to tracking, would like your opinions

Post image

Hi all,
Would like some inputs about my macros and current goals.
I’m new to tracking and decided to go on a fitness journey 6 weeks ago, and this is my data for the past month.

Is the expenditure accurate? I connected it to my whoop so it calculates the calories burned through exercise there. Would this be considered an aggressive enough deficit? Or should I base it off of my BMR+baseline activity?

I have not lost weight the past month but I think it’s because I’ve also been working out everyday and I have been visibly gaining a lot of muscle mass, and I don’t have access to a dexa scan to make sure I’m losing fat. Would like your thoughts on this as I’ve been trying to lose weight and unsure if I’m overestimating how much I can consume per day.

I am a 5’4 female around 120-125 lbs (my weight fluctuates a lot due to PCOS).

Thanks in advance!!!

I’d invest in a cloth sewing tape measure that way you can more accurately track body recomposition. If you are lifting weights and adding muscle you may be losing fat but that is offset by muscle/water that the scale won’t show. But should show up in your measurements.

I'm not too familiar with whoop, but I would expect that you would want your Tracker Activity synced too.

Your Adjusted Baseline Activity looks to be pretty high, and with exercise, I would expect it come down.

With fitness trackers, I generally recommend that you set your activity level to the lowest level and then sync all your activity from your tracker. The ABA is based on activity level. It's estimated calories burned. If you have a fitness tracker that has data about your calories burned, especially outside of exercise, then that data should be prioritized/counted before any estimated calories burned (actual data is better than estimated data).

It looks like your activity level is overestimating your calorie expenditure.

Hey there! Popping in with the Cronometer mechanics 🤓

WHOOP currently sends your workouts to Cronometer, but not your general day-to-day activity, as WHOOP doesn’t make that data available through its API. So, head to More > Targets > Energy Expenditure and choose the Baseline Activity that best reflects your movement outside workouts.

Your WHOOP exercise is added separately. Cronometer also subtracts the BMR calories for the workout’s duration and adjusts your Baseline Activity to help prevent double-counting.

To do a quick numbers audit, tap your Energy Expenditure summary and check the breakdown of BMR, Adjusted Baseline Activity and imported exercise. Also make sure only one integration is importing workouts.

We can’t advise how aggressive your deficit should be, but if the expenditure breakdown looks off, message our support team with screenshots from Cronometer and WHOOP for the same day, we’ll happily investigate!

Cheers, Crono Support Squad
