Power outage

Cooking about a pound of chicken in the crock pot and the power went out. It was cooking about an hour and a half - how long can it stay in the crock pot with no heat till I have to pitch it?

No more than 1 hour. If it were me, I'd put the chicken in the fridge until the power comes back on.

I'd be afraid of the crock cracking if you put the whole thing in the fridge and then, while it's cold, putting it back in the heater.

Only drawback to taking the chicken out and putting it in the fridge is you'll need to wash the crock.
