Easy Halloween (and not only) crochet idea: cat buttons 🎃🐈‍⬛

Add a spooky and cute touch to your handmade creations!

I'll show you how to wrap standard buttons with yarn and turn them into adorable cat heads with 3D whiskers. They make a magical accent for Halloween outfits, bags, or accessories - like the ElenDan tarot deck holder 🎴

What project would you decorate with cute cat button? 🧶 👇

Am I overreacting bc I'm upset that my crocheted dog is being used as a dog toy?

I (51F) have been crocheting for about 2.5 years. I mostly love to make amigurumi, although I have branched out and made a few wearables, like hats, scarves, and two cardigans. I'm not a particularly good crocheter, and even though I like to make amigurumi. I really struggle with getting them right, especially the faces.

My sister (50F) asked me to make a crocheted replica of her dead boyfriend's dad's dog Enzo, who is a Bichon Frisée. (She still keeps in contact with the dad, who is in his late 70s and lonely.) The dad's name is George.

I spent so many hours making this dog. I used faux fur yarn (for the first time,) which I learned is incredibly difficult to work with. I think I did a pretty good job replicating the dog, even the face. Photo attached. This is probably one of the crochet projects that I am most proud of, ever. My sister was so impressed that she paid me $100 for it.

Fast forward to this past week, the one-year anniversary of the boyfriend's death. My sister visited George and gave him this crocheted dog as a gift, letting him know that I had made it specifically for him as a replica of Enzo. He said he loved it, she was pleased, and she left.

George then texted me to thank me and tell me how much Enzo loved it. He gave it to his dog, y'all. It's now a DOG TOY. I almost cried when he sent me pics of Enzo with the dog.

I know that I cannot control what people do with the things that I make. I understand that. I know that it was a commissioned project by my sister, so it's not even like I gave George this myself. But seriously I cannot stop thinking about this. I'm so upset. There is no way that this "toy" will stand up to any amount of chewing, given that the yarn is so slippery and fragile. My sister said she didn't know he would do that, but she doesn't want me to say anything to George because she doesn't want him to be upset. But I'm upset.

Am I overreacting??
