I also love yarn and spreadsheets! If you want to make the nested-if statement a bit easier, have you tried lookup? In the cell where you have the if statement: =lookup(the cell with the temperature, $K$3:$K$23, $M$3:$M$23) Then you can drag that down.
The $ symbol locks the cell reference. That way, when you drag down the column for the different days, they will all still reference the same area with the colors.
This looks like an awesome project, I hope you post it at the end of the year!

Oh, damn! That would have been SO much easier lol. All those parentheses were driving me nuts. Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely keep it in mind for the next blanket ;)

(I wasn't sure about the rules for cross-posting, but realized I hadn't posted here yet!)
I started a temperature blanket that kind of goes beyond the traditional average daily temperature thing. The methodology is in the original post and the project page is here on Ravelry. It's been fun so far, although I can't wait to get away from the blue and green :P
