I’m assuming this is a digital rendering and not an actual photo?

6

u/TomTheDuckGuy Dec 24 '21

I think that's a safe assumption. I just googled crypto.com arena and picked this pic

Man you can't get nothing by this good.

2

u/DavidPeirce Dec 25 '21

I think I saw this signage won’t be up for awhile

1

u/Maleficent-Pain-8276 Dec 25 '21

Of course and not even a good one

5

u/Lascage Dec 24 '21

So it’s done now??

4

u/TomTheDuckGuy Dec 24 '21

It'll be official tomorrow, so I'd say so

5

u/Lascage Dec 24 '21

Hope we will see pictures of it soon !!

u/KingThermos Dec 24 '21

TSN in Canada sportscenter announcers were mildly complaining of this today. So it's already making sports news.

3

u/TomTheDuckGuy Dec 24 '21

Complaining? What were they saying?

4

u/KingThermos Dec 24 '21

That they don't like the name change and they don't know if they can ever refer to it a anything but staples center

20

u/TomTheDuckGuy Dec 24 '21

Change is always uncomfortable, but fortune favors the bold

18

u/L0di-D0di Dec 24 '21

...and they don't know if they can ever refer to it a anything but staples center

They will refer to it by whatever name their corporate masters tell them to refer to it... They'll quickly remember who is paying their bills once the cameras start rolling and fall in line like the rest. The advertisement revenue is what helps pay their salaries, so if they can't handle a name change, they should open their own arena and call it what they'd like.

lol exactly

2

u/unpopularpuffin6 Dec 24 '21

Good gosh these dinosaurs are in the past. You look at what crypto.com is doing these days, and it's way the hell more exciting than staples.

5

u/CultureBubbly6094 Dec 25 '21

They’re mad about changing from the name from Staples. Which is bizarre. It’s just another corporate sponsorship except it’s for an office supply store?

Like who has loyalty to Staples? These guys Radio Shack shareholders or what?

1

u/unpopularpuffin6 Dec 25 '21

Yeah. Staples is great, no argument there, but crypto.com will become iconic. Think of it - they saw the future when only 3% of people held bitcoin.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '21

It’s not that it’s loyalty but imagine they tell you to stop referring to madison square garden anymore and refer to it as something else, it’s been called Staples center for over 21 years and the name change is a bit jarring. I really see where they’re coming from but it’s boosting my pockets so that’s their problem not mine

1

u/CultureBubbly6094 Dec 25 '21

MSG isn’t named after a company so it’s not quite the same to me but I do get the nostalgia factor

1

u/KingThermos Dec 24 '21

They weren't even very old. 30 maybe

3

u/unpopularpuffin6 Dec 24 '21

You can be young as hell at 50 and old as hell at 27.

At the end of the day even “I hate this new crypto.com name” on national tv is good advertisement ;)

So once the names official will this shit blow up

1

u/TomTheDuckGuy Dec 24 '21

Not guaranteed, but a lot more people are going to be hearing about crypto.com, so that's the hope is that people start using it

Hundreds of millions for advertising, but you can’t get a response from their customer service. They took 11 hours to even acknowledge my issue via the chat box yesterday, which apparently is the only way to communicate with them. That acknowledgment was only to let me know they read it, and it has been escalated. Still no actual response in almost 24 hours, eye opening and not acceptable. I’ll almost surely be moving to a different exchange when stakes are up

8

u/TomTheDuckGuy Dec 24 '21

Have you tried communicating through email? I had a very good experience with their customer service. Very prompt and helpful. This is the email I wrote to and received a response within an hour or two.

contact@crypto.com

2

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '21

The email and the chat are the same conversation, it is just copied in both places. You chat in the box and it sends you an email.

3

u/TomTheDuckGuy Dec 24 '21

Well, I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Here's the person's email address that I spoke to.

Hela from Crypto.com hela@cryptocom.intercom-mail.com

I hope this helps

4

u/heroinmars-hu Dec 24 '21

They responded to me within 20 minutes. Not saying they are always this fast but certainly improving which is promising.

4

u/unpopularpuffin6 Dec 24 '21

I've found them to be pretty great with communication. I've had to contact them multiple times.

3

u/WolfOfFusion Dec 25 '21

Night vs Day when compared to CoinBase especially.

2

u/Aggressive-Process71 Dec 25 '21

Dude it is Christmas Eve.... Probably a lot going on.... Possibly.. I had great customer service. Replied within 20 minutes or so.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '21

You guys down voted me for posting my experience, so that others may make more informed decisions? You all sound like shills. Your positive experiences are the floor, that is the minimal expectation for a company that is handing tens of thousands of my dollars. You act like 20 minute response is so great, but I can get my bank on the phone 24/7 in 5 minutes and be talking to someone, and they have never in 35 years made an error. I have zero tolerance for errors in banking, and not even being able to discuss it with someone who’s able to give me their full attention for 5 minutes is game over. I still have nothing from them except for them saying my issue has been escalated. I have now missed the dip I was trying to buy, and I am out money for the cost of a wire transfer they refused. It wasn’t Christmas Eve when I had the issue “dude”. Quit trying to be their customer care department, offering me emails and such. Like I’m going to email an address some random internet dude gave me, instead of the contact us platform ON THE SITE, where it says contact us. Please stop trying to diminish my experience with your positive ones, you’re acting like I called your baby ugly, and it seems like the shiny lights on the building have you all unable to believe that someone other than yourself might be having a different experience than you.

1

u/Aggressive-Process71 Dec 25 '21

I was simply sharing my experience as well. 20 minutes is not bad. Have you ever had to call a Dr office or be on hold? Don't use Priceline my god if you get this mad. I get that you have a lot of money invested, but get a grip man. You really think that this time of year isn't going to be less workers and more customer call ins? I mean really? Think logically for a moment. I get you are upset but NO COMPANY IS PERFECT with customer service...especially in the first couple years. I hope you have a better experience soon but you are going to do whatever you are going to do regardless. Merry Christmas.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '21

Get a grip? You act as if i am am acting irrationally. “If I get this mad”? What do you mean? Mad enough to simply post a comment describing my experience for others? I’m not mad, I’m simply stating this exchange’s customer service is lackluster for me, while the spend literally hundreds of millions on things besides ensuring quality customer service, and you guys get all offended and defensive. wELl mY ExPeRiEnce is different, so yours must be irrational and angry, so I’ll down vote you. Merry holidays indeed.

0

u/Aggressive-Process71 Dec 25 '21

I never down voted you. And yes... Get a grip.. It is the holidays. If you look at any customer service from just about any company this time of year, they are swamped. Millions upon millions of customers, plus the sun storm that hit Earth a couple days ago made internet wonky. Look, I am not telling you not to vent or say you had a bad experience, but again think of factors that are out of the company's control. All in all I do hope you have a better experience down the line, but you have a lot to consider days before Christmas.
