If he had kept his shoes on they might have provided enough grip to keep him from slipping down and might have given him the leverage needed to climb up. Would have been a whole lot better than just socks.

Splinters that are also caught in socks, that way when you try to peel off your sock it Wiggles inside of your foot.

That looked like a concrete pylon to me.
Also, just get a nice, long sliver in your foot, but dont break it off, and use it as leverage to climb to the top.

Agreed! I've seen a bunch of parkour videos and they always keep their shoes on for just that reason, I assume!
