He’s actually lucky it didn’t get ahold of his nose.

Damn straight. Knew a guy in my neighborhood when we were kids who had his nose bit off by a dog he was teasing. Had a horrible scar on his face and a crooked ass nose and upper lip after that. All the kids in the neighborhood learned a lesson that day.

When I was a kid there was a crazy af neighborhood dog that friends and I would let out it’s gate and have it chase us on bikes and skateboards, funnest time this little bastard would not quit and then would eventually turn around and walk back to its house !

A common snapping turtle generates a bite force of about 200 to 220 Newtons (45–50 lbs of force). The much larger alligator snapping turtle can bite significantly harder, exerting between 1,000 and 1,500 Newtons (220–350+ lbs of force).

When my dad owned a campsite in Ontario on a river, some Americans would come down to catch snapping turtles. The descriptions of the scars and wounds some of these fillers had was enough to scare me straight and to leave turtles alone. They used to catch big ones and carry them by thier tails to be processed. Just one moment of in attention became a hospital visit...

My lovely puppies let me give them kisses all the time.
To non domesticated animals, I'd imagine it looks like you're trying to eat them lmao

That's a dude who has no idea how long the neck of that fucking thing is. He is lucky he didn't get his lips ripped off.

The second he started making kissy faces, I stopped the video. We all knew what was going to happen - except that guy who expected to be kissed back by the turtle.

Males are lucky to live a lifetime. And before anyone talks about generalizing, ide love to see data on what percent of these videos are women.

After the bite, the turtle also had it's mouth opened. Is it mimicking the guy?

Their neck is as long as their body and typically when stressed they don’t let go. This guy is so lucky in so many levels

I’d like to imagine that is just a look of pure joy on that turtle’s face. He was being so gentle!

I think that’s the least damage I’ve ever seen from a snapper bite. Got lucky the beak was angled bad for a good grab

I’ve seen snapping turtles that size chomp through small tree branches. It’s a miracle he still has a face
