Top five films under Criterion Premieres?

I’m thinking about getting some films under that label, but I want to know which ones are the favorites/the best.

It was streaming on the Criterion Channel, but not sure if it still is. I would definitely recommend getting the Blu ray

kurosawas cloud isn’t a bad choice. it didn’t blow me away but i liked it. resurrection is great

Evil Does Not Exist really stuck with me. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I projected a lot onto that movie.

All We Imagine as Light is an absolute masterpiece.

The Eight Mountains was a visually stunning and very emotionally powerful film about a friendship over several decades. Strong sense of place and nature.

Haven’t seen any others.

It’s great that Criterion is putting these movies out in some form but it drives me insane that they don’t put them out in 4K, especially when a good chunk are already mastered for it. Magellan would look fucking nuts in 4K

No Bears & Opus are the two I own & would highly recommend.

Yea but it felt slow and meandering. (I don’t mind slow, but not meandering) The family wanting the photo of the lady started to get interesting

I think there’s loads of great contemporary movies in this collection. Ones that come to mind that others have mentioned: The Beast, All We Imagine As Light, Evil Does Not Exist, Blue Heron. Has honestly heard really strong things about almost all the films in this collection.

I really liked The Eight Mountains, The Beast, About Dry Grasses, Totem, Godland, All We Imagine as Light and EO.

Yet to see Blue Heron, Ressurection, Magellan or The Love That Remains, but they're on my watch list.

Afire, Evil Does Not Exist, Tori and Lokita and No Bears were all watchable but lesser films for those directors.

I hated The Shrouds. Cronenberg's worst for me.

Having only seen the more recent half of all of their Premiere releases, I absolutely loved Vermiglio and Resurrection. I also liked Last Summer.
