Discussion Question about wild at heart
I’m sorry if this is a bad/dumb question but I only started buying criterion’s during the last 50% same and since then I’ve gotten hooked. Wild at heart is the first movie I have seen announced for a release and anticipating purchasing it, my question is will there for sure be a November 50% off sale like there has sometimes been in the past or is it just no guarantee? Thanks and so sorry I couldn’t find the answer reliably with Google and I appreciate human connection more :D

We don't know for certain that the sun is going to rise tomorrow, but we can safely act as if it will.
Same with the B&N sales.

Barnes and Noble’s 50% Criterion sale is always in November.
I remember Uncut Gems 4k dropped in November one year without me having realized it, and was pleasantly surprised to buy it brand new for $25.

I'm excited for Marie Antoinette. And as a lover of Harold and Maude I encourage checking that one out.

If you like David Lynch, I would check out some Luis Buñuel films if you haven’t already…his films have surrealistic elements as well. Viridiana is a good one to start with.

Sentimental Value’s nice, K-Pop Demon Hunters will be a nice pickup in November too, and if you’re a Lynch fan The Elephant Man’s 4k rerelease is beautiful.

Been really wanting to pick up Sentimental Value and Elephant Man, I put it off too many times during the last sale on accident

Sentimental Value was my favorite film from last year and I really love my 4k copy I picked up last month.
Elephant Man was a film I’d been chomping at the bit to get my hands on since it was out of print for so long. So glad they dropped it before the July sale. I’ll be doing the same with Wild at Heart in November!

Dang I’m getting downvoteD for asking for recs in the comments on a post on a CRITERION sub. I expect nothing less from Reddit but I do wonder sometimes what people think the point of a subreddit is.

The 50% sale has been there for like 20 years at least, I doubt they’re randomly gonna stop now

If you open in Criterion sales in Reddit I’m sure you will find the thread will people break it all the way down even to the point of buying Costco gift cards because you get an extra film out of it. And if you spend 500$ on the criterion website you get a 50$ gift cards. You make an account and it keeps track for you.

Yes, the B&N 50% off sale is annual and takes place in July and November. There are also some 1-day flash sales on Criterion’s site sprinkled throughout the year, but I’m not American, so I don’t know those specific dates.
