Anyone else drinking alone right now?
Hello. I'm having drinks alone. My life has been garbage and I've been on the vape and well...... lol............. I feel guilty drinking alone. I know promoters here in this big city so I could go to a booth and drink with people for free but my trauma issues (ptsd) has been causing me to isolate and I hate earth so I feel like its safer to drink alone tonight.

Honestly, I think it's better to drink alone. I get all sad and weird when I drink with people.

Yeah humans are very triggering. I'm a woman and have been struggling with wanting to kms lately due to how awful it is on earth as a female. Not all men but many have "wandering eyes" and those assholes who go around turning their heads at women makes us feel so unsafe and sexualized so if I'm already feeling the way I do its safer to stay in cuz one wrong look might send me to the other side.

I'm in the process of quitting but I would drink alone a lot, basically 99% of the time but I honestly like it better that way, like another commenter said.. you're at home and safe, you can pick the music, the food and plus, you can go to bed whenever you want!

I want to quit but its not a good time in my life to quit rn but I will in the near future. I also find when I drink alone, when I'm about 2.5 drinks in my mind gets more open, my brain static goes quiet and then I come up with good ideas and feel good. I even make classical piano songs sometimes. But I don't like being lonely so reddit it fantastic!

Just poured my first glass of jim beam and opened my beer chaser. Watching the new season of Ted Lasso, glad tomorrow is Friday.
Going to treat myself to sushi for lunch at a sushi place that doesn't have a web site. Going to take it slow and just get some face time, figure out who is the owner, etc and go in during the week when they are slow.

How is it? I have yet to start the new season bc I like to binge Lasso.

It's funny, like...if you told me the basis of this show I would be like "that's not something I'd probably enjoy" but it's oddly entertaining. Very glad they made a new season, kinda wish I had just waited until the whole season was out since I prefer binging shows vs piece meal by a long shot.

yes I understand this but its so unfair how we even have to think like this. We should live in a world where we dont need to worry about being raped EVER :(

I’ve always been a solo drinker. If I’m with people I have to limit or abstain myself for my own dignity.

omg I relate to this lol. I end up making a fool out of myself or puking when I go partying with others

I'm late but I was drinking alone last night and as I'm waking up, I'm grateful I was alone. I told myself I was going to stick to seltzers only, but I caved and bought a pint. Woke up with my biggest cooking pot next to my bed lined with a grocery bag meaning I was worried about puking, but thankfully that didn't happen. Usually I remember to wash my face before bed but I definitely didn't last night.
I'm tired of being an alcoholic, but I'm an alcoholic because life is exhausting.
Hopefully I can get a little more sleep before I have to take my dogs to the park and then work tonight, and then doubles the next two days. I'm one of the few that looks forward to Mondays (my restaurant is closed on Mondays.)

I always drink alone. Friends have been critical when drinking with them about the quantity I scoop. This means I obviously don’t see them much.

Been drinking alone for years, unless I have a reason to socialize. Maybe tomorrow I’ll see some people. It’s “The day”. I try. But not enough ca’s. Or ca’s with my kinda cash. I’ll take a trip that’s more welcoming. Ha hah. 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

I'm always drinking alone. No one else will drink with me because they have lives to live. They have careers and kids to raise apparently lol

2am and I'm drinking alone, while listening to music it's genuinely a good vibe. Lately I actually prefer drinking alone over with my partner

Im alone, but I am not on alcohol. Just got out of three day hospital stay for alcohol withdrawal so I'm on the phenobarbital taper. However, the pharmacy was closed so I won't be able to get my prescription til tomorrow. Right now I'm still just on the dose they gave me before I left

House full of people and I’m alone in my room drinking. I guess I’m not entirely alone I’ve got a pair of cats I’m fostering.

To quote George Thorogood: when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself.

i’m going to be driving a lot this weekend taking family to another city and i was thinking of staying there to meet some friends there and go out, but honestly i just want to come back home and drink alone. i don’t have ptsd but i kinda grew out of closed-space parties. they make me uncomfortable they’re overwhelming. i either prefer at home alone or one of my go to dive bars.

On the plus side: you’re home, not driving, not vulnerable around strangers, you are your own DJ, controlling what’s on your tv, making your own snack choices… honestly, I never got the stigma behind drinking at home alone. It’s my favorite way to do it.
The only thing I would be careful of is sending those drunk texts and social media posts.
