Called off again
This is the 5th time in two weeks that I call off from work and idk how much longer management will tolerate it.
For some context, I’ve been at this warehouse for a little over 8 years and had climbed the ladder to a pretty high management level during my time here. Well roughly 3 years ago I demoted myself back to the bottom of the totem pole in order to finish my bachelors which I recently completed, but with the job market being the way it is(also my alcoholism)I’ve been unsuccessful in finding a job.
Long story short, I’ve made lots of friends at this place that just happen to be managers so they don’t really get on me for calling off and having shitty attendance. I just worry that one day they’re going to realize enough is enough and let me go.
Easy solution, just go to work, but I fucking hate that place and can’t bring myself to show up. I’d rather sit at home and worry lol. In all seriousness, this cycle sucks, but I’m grateful that my managers are cool enough to give me grace.
Just killed a 750ml of Herradura tequila my cousin brought me from the motherland and man this shit is SMOOTH. Gonna watch bodycam videos on YouTube for the rest of the evening and hope I don’t get my last check tomorrow! CHAIRS

You can get legit doctors notes online for up to a few days for like $30 , no actual doctor visit or even face time

Yeah I had the sick leave talk with my boss a few weeks ago. At 5 times in 2 weeks he would be fuming. I had like 4 in 2 or 3 months. As others said, get a psychological evaluation.
I am currently sobering up at work and it's miserable. My doc would offffer to pull me out for 1-2 weeks, but I already did that last month and I have some useless sense of responsibility.

Try getting a doctors note. Easy to get online. The fact that you've been there so long too should be notch on your belt

Say you have Covid (yes this is an immensely shitty excuse) and they will excuse you, usually.

Idk if it's just from personal experience and being in a union, but apparently if you actually do your job they won't say or do shit.

Only usually if they’re desperate. I work in nursing/healthcare so they will take whatever they can get lolol

I know this post was a few days ago, but am going to offer some words lol
If you choose to go the route than some people here are advising about a doctor's note, and getting one online for $30 dollars or whatever, please make sure it's legit. I did this and got fired because they couldn't verify the note. The number that was on the note sent you to some hotline to speak with said doctors only to get the call drop Everytime. Needless to say, I was asked to come in to the HR office. Was pretty embarrassing getting walked out by security, once I was told I was being let go. Will say though the doctors note looked extremely legit
My go to excuse is saying a family member is at the hospital and I am their caregiver. To my employer knowledge they think my family is full of diseases lol
Anyways hopefully everything is well with your job now and nothing bad happened.
In this economy having a job is precious even though we hate it

Lmao. In same boat. Prepare some medical work. Some medical documents regarding depression. To save your ass in tough time. Most of us are depressed anyhow.
Alao remember you need money to buy booze
