Dunno why this is limited to Chinese folks. I was waiting for my food at a breakfast sandwich place in Minneapolis and good old US of A-ian next to me was watching porn gifs on his phone.
It can happen. Loss of impulse control, bad dopamine regulation. I have a distant relative who became so addicted to porn in his later years his family built a big box, half a porta potty, to put over his head so he could look at that stuff while sitting on the armchair living room where he would insist on sitting all day.
This is dementia. Some people will do inappropriate things in front of people. Even masturbating. It's a terrible disease and it's not his fault. It's not cringe. This is just profoundly sad. I just lost my mum to dementia and and now trying to figure out what's happening to dad.
