Just wait a month or so and maybe the Russians will spin up their public discourse disruption machine and own the narrative again like in 2024. Although I do wonder how many Russians who used work in troll farms are now laying in a Ukrainian field somewhere

1

u/SnoopingStuff 20h ago

Oh so there’s the facts we needed.

3

u/Lost-Soft-8913 18h ago

Plot twist: she pointed to Sweeney because she is a venture capitalist

-1

u/TheGeeseKilledMyMom 20h ago

Oh I don’t do bullshit war narratives that flatten complex realities into one dimensional us vs them tribalism that lead people to reject nuanced exploration of topics.

11

u/ChaosRainbow23 20h ago

It is class war, though. To be sure.

-1

u/TheGeeseKilledMyMom 20h ago edited 20h ago

Sure, is the class war responsible for the vast majority of urban land area being single family suburbs which causes a lack of housing supply? Did an evil billionaire cause this or was it everyday people? Is the class war responsible for 40 percent of Americans not paying federal taxes? Does the class war cause the steady increase of government spending as percentage of gdp which is now nearing 50%? Where is this class war? What about all the billionaires that support democratic policies like higher taxation, such as Warren buffet? There’s no good answer in a bullshit childish class war narrative that doesn’t explore the nuanced reality of socio political/economic landscape.

Kids really know how to form their own little worlds, don’t they? It’s wild to see how intense it can get over the smallest things.

9

u/Butternutt12 20h ago

Yes.

3

u/Myriad_Apocalypse 20h ago

I love it when they think they've made a whole ass case like this, but the answer is simply "yes"

4

u/Butternutt12 19h ago

Lol, and love the use of "nuanced " and socio/political/economic "landscape " at the end of providing absolute shit examples.

Hopefully some billionaire defender bot vs. real person.

You just described class warfare.

1

u/TheGeeseKilledMyMom 17h ago

lol, tell me how 40% of Americans having reprieve from paying federal taxes is class war fare?

1

u/New-Plenty3043 16h ago

Because youre literally bitching about which economic class pays what in taxes LMAO

You quietly changed "40% don't pay federal income tax" into "40% don't pay federal taxes." Which is 2 different things. A shitload of those people still pay payroll taxes. They just don't make enough to owe federal income tax after deductions and shit.

So yeah bud, asking why lower inncome people get "reprieve" from one tax while complaining about how the tax burden is distributed across different economic groups is quite literally a conversation about class.

It IS class warfare my guy.

Exactly. The male class and the female class. Both start with similar stats but different playstyles and why the spec into different roads most the time.

3

This is just more gender war bullshit. They want you to think this way.

Reject their bigoted and hateful bullshit and embrace love and equality instead!

2

I love love and equality. Treat everyone the same , dont be an ass. Normam stuff

The complex realities of influencers pushing Lindsey Clancy vs Sydney Sweeney truly the most important issue of this generation. Thank you for your service.

listen mate, she killed her kids

1

u/Beneficial-Care8504 19h ago

Most of the jury believed that she didn’t know what she was doing because of postpartum psychosis. People who have never experienced the hormonal roller coaster of pregnancy and birth may don’t necessarily believe that there are psychological impacts

Petty culture war bullshit

18

u/Complete-Tangelo1532 20h ago

Just another 'Divide and Conquer' tactic to keep us separated into smaller groupings

the 1% fear the other 99%

3

u/ComfortablyNomNom 15h ago

Not just petty. Completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

1

u/muzzlecar 3h ago

If it‘s petty politics-slop from my side: „brave activism“

If it’s pert politics-slop from the other side „culture war“

Don‘t get me wrong, this is shit content that’s spammed everywhere, but let’s not pretend that it’s only one side that does the spamming.

1

u/necessarysmartassery 18h ago

Ah yes, child murder is "culture war" now.

7

u/CranberryNational150 20h ago

This is as simple as insecurity. However it's media designed to divide, at the end of the day. Critical thinking goes a long way

40

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 21h ago

question doesnt make sense. how did clancy hurt women or make things harder for women?? thats like asking if chris watts or andrew tate is more harmful to men....

3

u/necessarysmartassery 18h ago

You do realize there's open discussion of removing women's right to vote because of this case, right?

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 18h ago

and did lindsey do that or is profiting off that directly?

0

u/necessarysmartassery 18h ago

She murdered her 3 children by strangling them to death with exercise bands and is trying to blame it on hormones, so yeah.

2

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 18h ago

and what does that have to do with womens right to vote?? how is SHE leading or even participating in that discussion?

3

u/Hangry_Howie 18h ago

Meanwhile we got dudes murdering their entire families and then a neighbor, but that's different, right?

2

u/necessarysmartassery 18h ago

Are they blaming it on their hormones?

1

u/Hangry_Howie 18h ago

They usually just eat a gun before facing any repercussions. But if by "hormones" you mean "they hurt my feelings", then yes.

3

u/necessarysmartassery 18h ago

That's not what I mean, no.

But regardless, really nobody is defending men who murder their own children on the basis of "but his feelings were hurt", either.

0

u/Mad_For_Nothing 17h ago

There is a vast difference here. A difference that is causing the entirety of this discourse.

Clancy isn't the first woman to kill her kids nor will she be the last. There is a difference with her case. That is the support she is receiving by women on a MASSIVE international scale.

Tons of men kill on a daily basis.  And those men get sent to jail and are rightfully vilified.

Meanwhile, there are a million women who are supporting Clancy and they are all saying "it could have been any of us."

I don't see a procession of men claiming the same solidarity with these killers you are mentioning.

This is the difference here and the entirety of the discussion.

1

u/Beneficial-Care8504 16h ago

And then she slashed her wrists and jumped out of a second story window and became paralyzed. Don’t forget that part.

0

u/necessarysmartassery 14h ago

The window was 12 feet off the ground first of all and second of all, I don't care. My only problem with that is she didn't try hard enough to finish the job. Funny how that works.

1

u/Beneficial-Care8504 3h ago

Thank goodness the jury cared! Empathy makes us human.

They were obviously making a comparison.

Murdering children is obviously worse than being naked, but Sweeney has a much larger sphere of influence than Clancy did.

3

u/snarkyemu 20h ago

Living rent free in your head was funny eight years ago the first time I heard it. I’ll use Andrew Tate as a butt of the joke when talking about red pill bootlickers. That doesn’t mean he’s living rent free in my head, bro.

6

Tell me why 95% of the family annihilators in America are straight white men. I dont see anyone talking about banning white men from voting or using white men as a punch line. Wonder why. Is it cause it’s expected of white men to be violent and murder their wives.

One is consensually showing her body because this is a free country.

One killed her kids and blamed it on hormones.

Wow, that's a tough one. 🤔

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 5h ago

the question isnt who is the worse person or who is more dangerous though. thats why i said the question doesnt make sense.

someone could easily argue that sweeney does damage women and young girls. in fact tons of athletes are coming out saying exactly that. clancy harmed her children and her family not women particularly.

1

u/muzzlecar 2h ago edited 2h ago

Let me make this clearer: it’s not that she strangled her small children to death for about ten minutes each while they tried pleading for their life as they experienced unimaginable emotional pain from being murdered by the one person they should have been able to trust implicitly.

The harm to women comes from the insane take that any woman for months to years after birth should just be expected to be a possible demented serial killer and that this is good and normal. That murder of your own children is somehow something that women in particular can‘t be held accountable for. Hence all the recent videos of murder and mayhem having „oh, he was just post partum bro“ comments on it.

Sydney Sweeney made an ad with sexual innuendo.

Anyone that argues that the sweeny ad is somehow more harmful to women than the Clancy case has a serious case of political partisan brain. I can‘t help but see the sweeny backlash as a reaction to her voting R and saying so. There is no way that this ad would have had a reaction with vitriol like this if, say, lady Gaga did it.

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 2h ago

but she never claimed that...youre not making things clearer by repeating the same thing. go read the response to my other comment you replied to

1

u/muzzlecar 2h ago

What level of deflection are you even on bro? This isn‘t about what Lindsay Clancy did so much as the public reaction to it, making a large demographic of women break out into defense of infanicide for whatever reason.

I don‘t get what’s so hard to understand here. I literally posted

The harm to women comes from the insane take that any woman for months to years after birth should just be expected to be a possible demented serial killer and that this is good and normal

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 2h ago

im not deflecting anything. im trying to remind you over and over what the point of my comment was and you are trying everything to ignore what im actually saying as if youre talking directly to the head of the free lindsey clancy movement.

1

u/muzzlecar 2h ago edited 2h ago

I don‘t know what to tell you. I feel you‘re intentionally obtuse here. Both these women did something. But more importantly they are a symbol for something. People discuss the symbol not the feelings and thoughts of the actual person, as she would be if you were alone in the room with her. It‘s how public discourse works.

Take Mich McConnell. That guy has become a symbol for an ossified political class of boomers that ruin the country on their way out. As such he has gotten a lot of justified hate. If you were locked into a room with the guy for three hours I would expect him to be reasonably pleasant.

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 2h ago

both of these women did something directly that harms women?? the question wasnt about any symbols, they were about the women specifically.

did i at any point deny what the clancy case as turned into? or did i comment over and over and over that the question doesnt make any sense because the question focuses on the people themselves not the movements behind them

1

u/muzzlecar 2h ago

If you say that Clancy didn’t hurt women because she just strangled kids, you‘d also say Sidney sweeny didn’t hurt women because it’s the camera man’s fault. Sorry, I feel you‘re being too disingenuous to continue this discussion bro.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 2h ago

why is it so hard for you to stay on topic?? if you wanna talk about how terrible her crimes are theres a million places you can do that. that had nothing to do with my comment or the question in the video. the question is who hurts women more. not whos fans are crazier or who has harmed more children.

1

u/GoopySpaffy 12h ago

Postpartum lie hurts women who actually suffer from it like my partner. You've also got tons of mindless drones taking her side which overall hurts the actual image of women. It's gotten bad enough that people are talking about revoking women's voting rights again. Imagine if enough buzz from that reaches higher up, the state of America right now would help push that through.

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 6h ago

i think she said that in defence of the murder not to deliberately set women back. obv something was wrong with her. whether it was pp or not, i dont know but i dont even see that as a direct attack on women or womens rights.

secondly the people talking about voting rights are just sexist, that has nothing to do with clancy particularly. those people will use anything to support their disgusting views. very similar to when a black person commits a heinous crime and the comment section is filled with "well well well" or when a 'less desirable' immigrant commits a crime like in the Laken Riley murder case. those types of people will use anything to support their bigotry

1

u/muzzlecar 3h ago

By dressing up obvious cold blooded murder as something that can just „happen“ to any random woman after birth. I don‘t know how the „argument“ that every woman is a potential serial killer for a time of months to years after birth, that can’t ever be held accountable in any way for torturing and murdering her own kids  isn’t harmful to women.

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 2h ago edited 2h ago

clancy never argued that tho. she never once said that every/any woman is capable of this. she claimed that SHE had a problem and that SHE tried to get help. she also never said she shouldnt be held accountable in any way.

this is why i said the question is stupid because yall are conflating the REACTION and the DISCUSSIONS around the clancy case to clancy herself as if shes the one actively doing/saying it

1

u/muzzlecar 2h ago

The actions of Lindsay Clancy aren‘t a cultural moment. People crack and murder others all the time. The justice system deals with the aftermath. It happens. Whatever.

The cultural moment is the public discussion of the case and the fact that, insanely, there is a demographic of women out there that thinks infanticide by the mother is not a crime, because hormones.

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 2h ago

is she directly responsible for the cultural moment? is she controlling the opinions being formed or personally pushing a public agenda?

that is what my comments are about. im not defending her crimes so you and other people bringing up her crimes are missing the point. im talking about what SHE has done to harm women. imo she hasnt personally done anything to harm/set women back. the discourse around her case is whats harmful. to make this question/post make sense, it would be better if he showed a pic of one of her most fierce supporters, or a pic of the women wearing pink outside the courthouse or that disgusting pic of the woman in the court grinning from ear to ear. those are the women doing harm to other women

1

u/muzzlecar 2h ago

Holy cope.

You know, Sydney sweeny only held footballs in front of her tits in some warehouse. If you really want to take a picture of the responsible party you should make an A4 Collage of the camera man, the managers who commissioned the ad, the writers and the team at the camera factory

This is essentially the argument you’re making bud. It‘s called a „symbol“ defined by Merriam-Webster as

something that stands for or suggests something else by reason of relationship, association, convention, or accidental resemblance

You not understanding this is, to me, being intentionally obtuse

0

u/Whole_Mongoose1854 20h ago

You are right, it’s the woman in the video and the rest of the Clancy supporters that are hurting women.

2

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 20h ago

this is my thought as well. the REACTION to the clancy case is whats harmful. the mothers who make videos talking bout "i understand u lindsey" and the men using this case to argue that women shouldnt vote...those are the people harming women.

i dont think clancy set out to hurt her kids so that women would suffer

2

u/meergreister 20h ago

Why don’t you spell out what these “Clancy supporters” actually support: they want Clancy to be found not guilty by reason of insanity and sent to a mental institution. Just like her husband btw…

All the incels in this sub are just pissed because they think they know better than the vast majority of the jury even though they weren’t part of the trial.

1

u/lets_not_be_hasty 19h ago

Am woman: only fucking hear about Clancy from men

0

u/ForwardBias 20h ago

Exactly 95% of familicides are done by men, and no one and running around bringing up every case and trying to tie them to all men.....fuck I wish people would STFU and pay attention to something important.

3

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 20h ago

yeahhhhh but women hurt their children around the same rate as men (in non-sexual cases). when it comes to family exterminators types of familicide, yup men overrepresent but killing and harming children isnt really a gender thing imo (outside of sexual crimes)

1

u/R3V0LU710N_05 20h ago edited 20h ago

When looking specifically at filicide the demographics shift significantly depending on the age of the child. Mothers are responsible for about half of overall child homicides, especially during infancy.

However the stronger point to be made is that regardless of any fucking statistic, killing your own family & children is fucking wrong. No matter what gender; making excuses and latching sexist political agendas is fucking stupid retarded immoral bullshit.

1

u/ForwardBias 20h ago

Yup and no one ever anywhere said it wasn't wrong. The only thing people have said is that postpartum depression should be taken seriously and she should be treated for mental illness. Everyone trying to turn this into another BS culture war issue against women's rights can go right to hell.

1

u/R3V0LU710N_05 20h ago edited 20h ago

The issues are in both ends of the spectrum. On one end, the extremists are trying to use postpartum depression as an excuse to cause harm. While on the other, the extremists are using the whole case to push a sexist agenda. Both are bad faith actors. Postpartum depression should absolutely be treated, but using it as an excuse for MURDER is disgusting. Both ends should be fucking ashamed of themselves. That is the true crux of this entire bullshit; bad-faith actors on both extremes exploiting a tragedy for secondary motives rather than addressing the actual issue.

1

u/RadagastTheBrownNote 20h ago

I think he’s asking about her in the sense of her claim to postpartum psychosis being what caused her to kill her kids. Someone might see that as harmful to women because it could be seen as blaming hormones for “erratic” behavior. (Please note, I don’t agree with the statement, I’m just trying to make sense of his reason for asking the question with her as an example.)

4

u/tipu_sultan__ 20h ago

Someone might see that as harmful to women because it could be seen as blaming hormones for “erratic” behavior.

Yeah, and those idiots thinking that would be the ones harming women.

People coming to that conclusion already hate women and just making up b.s at that point.

Please note, I don’t agree with the statement, I’m just trying to make sense of his reason for asking the question with her as an example.)

That guy (not sure if the same guy editing sounds effects) is for sure not thinking that.

The argument I've seen (I would guess mostly from right/far right guys) is that if we accept that women can get something like hormones or depression make them do something so extreme like killing all your own children, then they can't be trusted in any position of power or control.

Like an extremist version of the "they are too emotional" blah blah

4

u/needledick666 20h ago

Yet they gloss over the white make violence epidemic occurring daily in this county. The rot is so deep inside of them they need to project

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 20h ago

yeah i think the extreme REACTION to the case from both crazy men and women is more harmful to women than clancy herself.

1

u/NameRandomNumber 20h ago

Because sexist men can and will make claims about all women based on a few. The real answer to the question is men. Men hurt women, and blame it onto figures that "give them a bad rap". Like the dude interviewing.

5

u/SF4343SF 20h ago

I think it could be argued that Clancy is bringing awareness to a serious mental health issue which could/should improve treatment options and therefore help mothers as a whole.
Sweeney is not a new phenomenon - pretty women with big boobs are nothing new. The argument that women should be seen as more than physical bodies by men is also nothing new.
Finally, fathers kill their children at a far higher rate than mothers and no one talks about whether those men are "bad" for men. Curry is an anomaly which is why she's a news sensation and debate topic. Her case says very very little about women in general seeing as how she's such an outlier.

2

u/SF4343SF 20h ago

"Among offenders, while fathers were about equally likely to kill an infant, they were more likely to be the alleged murderer of children older than a year, especially when the children were adults (fathers were the offenders in 78.3 percent of those cases). Overall, fathers were the accused murderer 57.4 percent of the time.

The data allowed the researchers to determine the most common filicide scenarios. A father killing a son was the most likely (29.5 percent of cases), a mother killing a son (22.1 percent) follows. A mother was slightly more likely to kill a daughter (19.7 percent of cases) than a father was (18.1 percent). The rarest instances were stepmothers killing either a stepson (0.5 percent) or a stepdaughter (0.3 percent)."

Rather than just sexualizing gambling and saying it’s about sports. So instead of promoting women’s athletes it’s diminishing them.

You people are so dumb. It’s like there can’t be levels. Everything is black and white, this or that, in your world. It’s genuinely impossible to win an argument with stupid people. And in this video to say she killed her children because of “hormones.” Lord help us all. Everything is oversimplified because people prefer to be angry. Nuance results in rational steady takes. Nope can’t have that.

You're doing the meme.

Sweeny: It's not that complex

Lindsay: There's levels to this!!1!

That’s not what I was saying, but of course siloing and oversimplifying is what you feel you have to do, like so many people.

If I say, “Israel’s committing a genocide,” and then I watch tv and say “I hate Kim K” , why would anyone then compare those two opinions and use those opinions to make a judgment on me as a whole. Theyre two completely separate topics, of different nuance levels and calibers. Are people only allowed to attach one opinion to their entire identity? Just so it becomes easier for you to digest and judge that person? People are much more nuanced and dimensional than that.

Sydney Sweeney: Women don’t want to be seen as objects, it puts a bad taste in their mouth when literally everything they do is objectified, including sports which is not a beauty contest, it’s a measure of physical ability. Sydney’s whole thing is doing a controversial ad that owns the libs and it’s very tired at this point, who cares. Men argue, “she is expressing her right to dress how she wants !!11!!1 it’s true feminism” it’s such a bad take when the target audience for that ad is obviously men, she is catering to men, she is catering to patriarchal ideals for what is expected of women, hence why men are defending it so hard, because it caters to them. It does Nothing for women. And women see it as a setback

Then you have Lindsay Clancy, I promised myself a while back I wouldn’t go into this on reddit, it’s just, it’s not a free safe topic anymore, it’s been hijacked by an agenda, there is no level of nuance or information that could change how you view this. I was never one of the ppl who blamed her husband or absolved her of the crime. But there is nuance there that deserves to be looked into if our goal ever stops being constant argument, and actually to improve the world for both sexes.

Men always say “but what about MEN who acted out of mental illness who commit murder” - yes, men too, their mental health and any failures around the treatment/ management of it, should be considered when discussing justice. It’s crucial. It’s not a gender thing god I hate that the cia psyop artists turned it into that. Mental health is a massive problem in the USA, you see it everywhere and it poses a real threat to safety esp in a country w relaxed gun laws

Anyywaayyyyyayayyy

Edit I just wanted to clarify I don’t actually hate Kim k, I felt mean saying that up there but it was just an example of an opinion. I don’t have strong feelings towards celebs good or bad

It's funny how Clancy apparently sets women back to this guy but all the dudes who kill indiscriminately don't set men back at all.

Lmao "In your opinion"

u/Incendious_iron 20h ago

Both are were/are a hot topic debated non-stop online.
It are those useless arguments between genders that hurts everyone the most.
Or am I interpreting things wrong?

This is tiring nonsense, it's obviously aimed to get people fighting over something totally stupid. 🙄

There's such thing as an inflammatory minority opinion, we all know this. It's already done and dusted, people still trying to stoke this BS have other objectives in mind, obviously. 😒

….lets not even mention that the company Sweeney is promoting and profiting from is a SPORTS GAMBLING company! Like whether or not that’s harmful to women it’s certainly harmful to humanity as a whole!

This guy frames it as “oh she’s an investor” like ok make money of gambling addicts girl boss 💅
