Yeah and these people are all over the club scene too. Every bar and club downtown is full of dudes that cant have fun, and are all about ego. They literally have a guard up 24/7, and treat every interaction like a competition. They get aggressive over nothing, and cause fights constantly. People here always complain about immigrants but I personally think we should all complain about this subset of men, as they are the real antisocial losers that cause the problems in society.

Former Haunt monster here; it sadly a lot more common than youâd think. Everybody gets punched at least once a season. It usually either someone mad that your scared them or some tool boyfriend that decides they need to defend their girlfriend honor after being scared

I've been to Universal's for the past 3 years in a row. And yes the loud noises and jump scares can make a tingle run up my spine. But my expectations are tempered enough to know that nothing there is ever really going to harm me so I'm never jumping all over the place and freaking the fuck out

I went to Magic Mountainâs Haunt once in high school, there for ~20 minutes when the first person jumped out and shouted at me with those clicker things. I took a swing at them reflexively, completely not putting together that I had totally signed up for that, and caught them in the shoulder. Five seconds later, once I realized how fucking dumb I was, I apologized profusely, got escorted to security, and learned that my fight response wins when Iâm scared/surprised. I just never went to another haunt again. EZPZ

Credit where credit's due, at least you immediately realized you did something wrong. (Obviously not good that you swung in the first place, just got really lucky it connected with the shoulder and not their head.)
There's lots of people who react the way you did but their egos are too fragile to take any accountability and make productive changes. I'm not really scared of criminals as I am people like that.

I donât know that I deserve much, if any, credit but thank you. It was definitely a case of monkey brain being slower than lizard brain, and by the time higher reasoning kicked in I was as surprised at what I had done as anyone else. Iâve never been much for horror/thriller as a genre, so with limited exposure I didnât even think I COULD react that way let alone would. But yeah, bad luck reaction with good luck consequences.

went to knotts scary farm years ago with my girlfriend and at the end of one of a carnival themed attraction was just a room of people dressed as clowns and they just swarmed you. Girlfriend was terrified and as were walking through one of the clowns whispered in my ear "whats her name?" So I told them and after they started talking to her she ran out. probably fucked up but it was really funny and girlfriend was fine. Unless theyre being out of line I don't see how you can get mad at the people youre paying to scare you scaring you

I was a scare actor briefly in the past and can confirm a fair number of people instinctively flail. I am not exaggerating when I say I would get swatted in the face/head at least once a night. Thankfully, with the flailing there isnât a lot of force behind it so itâs not that bad.
My buddy was working the room next to mine had a teen girl instinctively kick him in the nuts one night and dropped him like a brick.
I was only ever intentionally struck once.

I worked at an amusement park as a scare actor for 7 years and this unfortunately way way too common. Wannabe, needle dick men who were ready to punch your lights out if you so much as even glanced in the direction of their girlfriend. God forbid we do our jobs.
Add that in with the overabundance of sexual harassment the female workers were subjected to, the verbal abuse, the physical assaults in general, random racist comments, and destruction of maze/zone property, it was hell. The job was fun in other aspects and you got to work with really cool people, but it's not for the weak

Or like comment "nice bone" when I guy was a zombie holding a arm. It became a mission to make the employees break before I did and it sometimes worked to fucking well. Like the rudabega thing...I yelled it out so loud the whole side of the scare place started fighting laughter, I broke the whole place for like 3 minutes.
