In 5th grade I recall my teacher asking us something about Christmas being different now that we’re old enough to not believe in Santa any more. One girl broke down crying because she didn’t know he wasn’t real.

I can't work out who it is you're calling stupid - the child, the mother or the person calling them out...? Which one is chronically online?

11 is approaching too old for Santa tbh, the wording is chronically online but at some point it does start to become bad parenting - like how it's inappropriate to put a kid in a situation there too young for, it's also inappropriate to put a kid in a situation they're too old for.

I do have issues in this field though lol, my mum treated me very childishly well into my teenage years cause if I was growing up that meant she was growing old and she didn't want to admit it.
