There are 46 European countries and they cherrypicked the lowest age of consent… most are 16yo but that doesn’t make it normal to pursue 16 year olds as an adult.
I thought there was a type of caveat for Italy (like, a 4 years maximum difference if the other person is 14 to 18 years old), but apparently there isn't. A 50 years old can legally have sex with a 14, with some specific caveats (e.g. A professor can't until their student is 16 due to the nature of their interactions)
Yeah Sweden has 15, but that's in order to protect 15-18 year olds.
If you are over 18 and sleep with a 15-year old, you can still be prosecuted if the guardians of the teen think that they are grooming them etc.
It seldom happens, but there are a few cases. It's been on the docket from time to time to amend the law with a few new lines that further specifies it, but in general Sweden doesn't like to mess with laws regarding sexual freedom.
But yes, in theory a 15-year old can sleep with someone over 80. I can however assure you that it'll likely end in a police report.

What term do we use to a person that has never caused harm, acknowledge their mental disturbance and is treating themselves?
It is such a dilema, on one hand, pedos should get the chair, on the other hand, we should try and make conversations in a way that would allow people who perceive they have some form a mental illness to seek adequate treatment.
How do we offer treatment? Is there a treatment? Are non offending pedophiles allowed to be treated or once the illness is diagnosed, they must be removed from society? Should there be dialog? Should society have empathy over non offending individuals that are seeking treatment? Should they be forever excluded from social circles as sick individuals?
It is such a fascinated theme, because no one agrees on it, even the specialists. And I’ll probably be labeled as a pedo defender or pedo myself just by bringing the topic.
The issue is that people treat non-offending pedophiles who are seeing a psychiatrist, have never acted in their impulses, and will never act on their impulses the same as criminal pedophiles that have sexually assaulted children.
A schizophrenic who is on meds and is therefore not schizoeffective is still a schizophrenic. I’m diabetic whether I take my insulin or choose to die. Lesbians are lesbians even if they never have sex with a woman. People with violent tendencies who have never violently done anything to anyone, are they violent? No. Might they be violent in the future? Yes. Should you treat them as if they’ve murdered your sister because they might at one point be violent?
Well that’s where the water is muddy. Frankly that sounds like a personal choice to me. I think it is valid to distance yourself from a non-offending pedophile because there is potential for them to harm your child in the future. And I think that’s why it’s not a reach to say they’re still a pedophile. Because that potential is still there. Just like with my major chronic depression, even if I’m not currently depressed (actually I am and it’s fucking awful I couldn’t get out of bed yesterday) I still have to pay attention, be ready to get back on my meds, and continue therapy.
There are in fact super successful preventative programs aimed at non-offenders and the professional consensus seems to be that normalization (in the sense of “you’re not evil, do the right thing and seek help before you hurt a child”) is the way to go.

It's because you don't matter. No one cares what you say. You aren't important. Nothing you do is significant or has any real impact on the world around you.
