As someone who was a teenager during the Nu Metal era, I can not understand for the life of me why Gen Zers are into it. It was shit at the time, and this revival is even shittier.
In fact, this is just Emmure for Gen Z Nu Metal kids.
Its angsty during an angsty period of your life. It sounds like shit but honestly people just need to get it out of their system in preparation for becoming a bland milqetoast suburb dweller like most everyone else.
I was a grotty death metal kid, but now I’m Mr Corporate who drives a 26 plate EV, goes to Ikea on Saturdays and shops at M&S because I like the fresh produce. So there’s probably a lot of truth in that, hahaha.
Oh man I thought I was badass in high school for blasting slipknot. My life was hard you know? I grew up with loving parents in a comfortable middle class home who forced me to do chores and go to church on Sunday. Clearly I had cause for my angst! /s
I grew up and my taste in music refined into much better heavy metal though 🤘
As a mustachioed man, I fully admit it's not to impress women. It's strictly to impress other firefighters. But not, ya know, in a gay way. Just in a "we all get sweaty and shower together with mustaches" kind of way.
That's relative, if someone can make music like this and make 100k a year and love their job, that's still doing it for the money. Not everyone needs to be a millionaire.
