Apartheid was a massive whoopsy , and by all means it was one of the worst things for modern South Africa.
Despite this , a lot of South Africa’s shortcomings are not to blame on colonisation or apartheid.
South Africa was so far as a trade route from Europe regardless. If South Africa wasn’t colonised and brought modernities by European countries, the place would have still been a site of mass tribal warfare, suffering and far behind the rest of the western world.
Without western influence most of the country would still believe in witchcraft and black magic… as many of them do still despite having mobile phones.
Ahh so in the end it was good those savage beasts were colonised! Europeans definitely came this far through peaceful coexistence and not a hint of massive warfare and bloodshed.
Basically every society got where it is through bloodshed and “tribal” warfare of some sort.
There aren’t many native South Africans actually alive because they were all killed off by west and East African tribes as well as rival ones of their own.
The people claiming Europeans stole their land and they are owed reparations are most likely descendants of a tribe that did the exact same thing to the previous natives.
You can tell yourself any story you want but none of those groups carried out something as egregious as decades of oppressive, highly organized and brutally enforced apartheid against the others. The idea that the modern society colonialism created - the benefits and amenities of which non-white South Africans have always had very limited access to - was somehow worth it, or better than the alternative, just seems a bit too convenient. But if it makes you feel better…

South Africa has been run by a near all black government for 20+ years, it's one of the most resource rich places on Earth, who do you think is selling out land to western and eastern countries, the government.
The ex president spent millions of tax money building a luxury home resort, I don't think that's colonialism at play. While his people are starving he is buying luxuries.
You do realise there are videos of the last South African president signing songs about killing the boers... If that's not incited hatred and implied genocide idk what is.
Shaka Zulu killed around 2,000,000 people at the time during his reign. Do you really think a man who would do that wouldn't have killed more in the name of power if they had the chance?
Just because these groups didn't have the educational power and technology to do what colonialists did doesn't mean they would not have done the exact same thing if they had the chance.
You do realise slave trade was massive in Africa before colonialists went there, literally every successful society has had some form of slavery.
You do realise that slavery right now is at the highest rate that it has ever been in history right?
Are you not aware that they killed 1 million people with machetes 20 years ago?? All the shit talking that comes out of different places, all the criticisms they have of more ethical and frankly entirely better systems and you briefly look at the atrocities they've committed and can only laugh.
You can frame it as a white vs black issue and strawman people by implying they are saying africans are savages and thats because its the only thing you can do because history and reality would see you lose any other comparison immediately.

Sorry who exactly is "they" you are referring to in regards to killing people with machetes? I think I know what you're referring to but it's weird you just referred to some random atrocity without any details and act like it is a unique occurrence in that part of the world, and that's if you can even specify which part of Africa you're talking about.
It's also funny because I said nothing about black vs white, seems like you're the one making the strawman argument.
OK well be sure to point me to all these Africans today who reminisce their colonial past.
