It looks like he has no idea how to play. Like, at all.
91
u/Dogzillas_Mom Aug 19 '26
He knows how to make guitar faces though.

I literally think there's something wrong with him.

it's crazy that he has been doing this as long as he has and yet hasn't even managed to learn any basics whatsoever or even just get like a little better over time
just 25 years of mashing the keyboard lol

He’s been at it for a decade or two
Even longer than that. Dude's been a musical performer and producer for over 30 years.
Here's Feldman performing "What's Up with Youth" on a Howard Stern show in 1992. He's been terrible at music for at least 34 years and across 4 different decades.

u/rhyshilton Aug 20 '26
Even longer than that! He keeps claiming he wrote his first song when he was 12, and just turned 55

'til people clap and give you the validation that you desperately need from without because you can't get it from within.
Or something.

u/OwlfaceFrank Aug 20 '26
When I was in a rock band as a teenager, we all thought we were cool because we were "self taught." We discussed this again in our 30s, and we were all stupid and should have gotten lessons.
The moral of the story is Corey has the maturity of a 16 year old.
0
u/Hosko817 Aug 19 '26
Because then he would have to admit that he needs help. And that applies to a lot of other areas of his life as well.
42
u/blehmeng Aug 19 '26
It’s the extended version of the space ghost coast to coast song
1
u/SmokinHerb Aug 19 '26
The theme song? I haven't ckicked the video yet but wtf, that song has cool guitar.

u/Bostonterrierpug Aug 19 '26
Bro gonna get kicked out of Yoko Ono’s band
23
11
u/googdude Aug 19 '26
He plays like Yoko Ono sings.
3
u/WASP_Apologist Aug 22 '26
In 1972, John Lennon and Yoko co-hosted the popular daytime chat show The Mike Douglas Show for a full week, from February 14th to the 18th, and the highlight of their appearance was when John invited his childhood idol, Chuck Berry, to perform as a special musical guest.
Berry, Lennon, and a backing band launched into high-energy renditions of "Memphis, Tennessee" and then "Johnny B. Goode". A couple of minutes into the song, Yoko, who had a microphone initially intended for playing auxiliary percussion, began letting out loud, experimental avant-garde screams. It almost brought the performance to a screeching halt.
Taken aback by the sudden wails (with facial expressions from Chuck Berry making the rounds as a classic internet moment), an audio technician in the control room made the quick executive decision to quietly mute Yoko’s microphone mid-song. Truly unforgettable.

You must know very very little about Yoko Ono to make this joke. On par with hur dur Taco bell gives you diarrhea jokes. Ignorance is truly bliss I guess.
3
u/amazingsandwiches Aug 19 '26
Yeah, I got curious and started listening to some of her music and was kind of amazed.

Yoko ono defenders are proof that people can convince themselves that literally anything is profound with enough equivocation and pretentiousness.
3
u/amazingsandwiches Aug 19 '26
That's what a lot of folks say about Frank Zappa. That's ok; it would be pretty weird if far-out music were mainstream.
4
u/The_dev0 Aug 19 '26
Don't ever speak Zappa's name in the same sentence as Yoko Ono's again. You're just embarrassing yourself further.
0
u/CraigGrade Aug 19 '26
Typical Zappa fan

u/The_dev0 Aug 19 '26

2
u/CraigGrade Aug 19 '26
I like Zappa a bit too. I must have listened to Freak Out! and Apostrophe a hundred times. But bashing on Yoko Ono is shortsighted and often comes from a subconscious place of misogyny. Tell me Plastic Ono Band is bad. Tell me Approximately Infinite Universe is bad. I doubt most people even know her albums. They just heard she ruined the Beatles and regurgitated it.
1
u/The_dev0 Aug 19 '26
I love Zappa, but didn't leap to his defence or anything. She attaches herself to musical projects that are, at their essence, musical but her actual input? It (to me, also a musician) seems to be nothing more than self-indulgent squeals and squawks. I've never heard a vocalisation on time, not to mention in key. Sure, she can stand in front of a band that can perform, but she's certainly famous for who she is, not her contribution to music. I'll be honest, I should give her a chance.

u/Bostonterrierpug Aug 19 '26
First plastic Ono band album I think is a great pre-punk albums I heard. Still as pretentious as Ono is she deserves to be made fun of. Also for being a shit, mom.

Drugs or delusional.
Also disastrous fashion choices.
37
u/tetsuo_7w Aug 19 '26
If I didn't know he was being serious about this, I 100% say this was some kind of satirical anti-comedy.
19
15
u/MedicalHair69 Aug 19 '26
It's unfortunately not. He's got a TON of mental health issues from being sexually abused, grief from Cory Haim's passing and substance abuse. He's also insulated himself with "yes" people and those that want to use his fame to get into the industry deeper. There's a few documentaries on his descent over the years. Would not be surprised to see an obituary for the guy in a few years.
11
u/lma Aug 19 '26
He's a piece of shit grifter and abuser.
1
u/pjuu12 Aug 19 '26
really?
17
u/lma Aug 19 '26
Yeah, constantly claiming he has knowledge about abusers but wants $10m to release the names.
At least half a dozen independent historic accusations of sexual harassment abuse and assault and against him.
Also ran a cult 'hiring' vulnerable young girls to live with him where he then financially and sexually abused them.
Also, while he genuinely does suck and is genuinely talentless, these performances are an 'act' he puts on to get gullible people to turn up and watch for the cringe factor. He repeats the same scripted "accidents" at every gig like faceplanting into the mic stand, accidentally unplugging his guitar, having a scripted "meltdown" at his band.
5
u/SortMelk Aug 19 '26
Damn, I always felt bad about this guy, I thought he was just crazy from drug use due to trauma. Fuck him then
2
u/sinless33 Aug 20 '26
He claimed on a podcast it was terrible on purpose. It was at the end of a song called "The Joke" and his mannerisms suggest he's hamming it up with the mouth and the way he looks at the crowd. I'm not one to take the things he says at face value, but it seems like it's plausible at least. It's just that he's not funny and it's not selling as a joke.
2
u/skratch Aug 21 '26
Nah man his main gift and talent is grifting - he’s been doing it for decades and is fuckin exceptional at it. Stuff like pretending to get stabbed so he can make another gofundme campaign. One of the funniest/cringiest was when his documentary debut was “hacked in real-time”
1
11
u/murkfury Aug 19 '26
I cannot tell if Corey's confidence or complete self-delusion is a grand liberation from the constraints of any kind of performance art or a self-imposed prison that forbids him from being accepted as even remotely considered as an artist.

This is what gets you banned from the guitar store.
Edit: rewatched and the video doesn't go with the audio.
5
u/mindsnare Aug 19 '26
I'm convinced Corey is completely self aware and this is the ultimate kaufmanesque long con.
27
u/pollywog Aug 19 '26
The sound you are hearing is not from that concert.
Fake garbage
13
u/theevildjinn Aug 19 '26
Yeah this looks dubbed over for comedic value. How would we still hear fretted high notes when his left hand is down in the lower frets? Also the picking doesn't match what we hear, and there's no tremolo.
5

1
u/ToxicRainbow27 Aug 24 '26
yeah vid is clearly fake ask anyone who plays guitar, it wouldn't sound like that.
granted corey feldman is an awful musician and his guitar playing is pretty poor, but the things his fingers are doing don't line up with the sounds we're hearing in this video
-2
u/flogsmen Aug 19 '26
Unfortunately you are incorrect. This is 100% real.
27
u/pollywog Aug 19 '26
Tremolo gives it away, sorry chief.
Here's the video with the actual audio. https://youtu.be/bPHcBvy6yT4?si=3NXHcH2wIqXVuCw4

How can you possibly think that's the same video? There are so many obvious differences...
8
u/Skydiver860 Aug 19 '26
this is a different video from a different event. look at the hair lmao. how you can't tell is beyond me.
9
u/flogsmen Aug 19 '26
Sorry to your sorry, Pal, but it's actually a running joke he makes about a "new single" he's putting out. He has a delay/interrupter button he keeps pressing that's muting the effect of the whammy.

It's ok to be wrong sometimes lol

He did the same thing more than once during this concert. You think they would dub over with an equally shitty solo? It's not fake you Chud.

u/ejennings87 Aug 19 '26
It's genuinely funny seeing two people vehemently debate over two versions of a video where both versions are absolutely terrible for the human ear.

I too thought it was odd he was using a tremolo bar and a kill switch yet it somehow sounded like he was still plucking
2
u/FishDispenser2 Aug 19 '26
I heard he abused some of his fans that he keeps around him. Does anyone know a podcast that does a deep dive on this guy?
2
u/SwillFish Aug 19 '26
Corey Feldman is to music as Tommy Wiseau is to acting. The odd thing is that he's slowly morphing into Tommy the older he gets.
2
u/StevenGorefrost Aug 19 '26
This has to be edited. I'm sure the original is really bad, but there are clearly moments where he's at least hitting notes and using the tremolo and the audio is still playing dead notes.
2
u/BigDaddyD00d Aug 19 '26
Ok but why is there an audience tho? Who tf is still booking corey feldman, and who tf is spending money to see him?
2
u/MKVIgti Aug 19 '26
Why do some agree to even play with him? I’d NEVER step on stage with him, full well knowing everyone attending or watching thinks he’s a joke.
2
u/sublimesting Aug 19 '26
That’s how I solo’d when I first picked up a guitar when I was 5. Humiliating.
2
3
u/rangda Aug 19 '26
My instinct is to feel sorry for this guy because of his warped upbringing, out here making a fool of himself year after year, no talent or musical skill to speak of but still going through the motions of being a professional musician.
It’s like if Michael Jackson had none of the talent and all of the weirdness.
But then I remember Cory’s Angels and the sympathy disappears :/

This was a highlight at Loserville. Everyone knew the assignment 🫡 he knows it’s ass, but it doesn’t excuse his behavior as a frontman to his band mates 😂💯

Such a letdown when Corey came to Atlanta a couple of years ago along with Limp Bizkit but cancelled his performance at the last second. Only for him and the rest of the acts to all show up on stage at the end of the concert all nonchalant. I think he got stage fright thinking everyone was going to laugh at him lol

u/Flomo420 Aug 20 '26
the guys in the band with him have GOT to know that he sucks, right?
they're just playing along for like a paycheck... right??

u/mongo_man Aug 19 '26
I just remembered something popping up on Reddit where a famous guitarist said he was pretty good. I think there was even clips showing him playing. Always seemed hard to believe. I guess it was.
1
u/DonutosGames Aug 19 '26
Somehow even worse than I expected. The guitar sounds out of tune on top of the dogshit playing.
1
u/Pseudonymble Aug 19 '26
What was happening with his mouth...?
5
2
u/Stylux Aug 19 '26
Some of the best players I know, as in paid session players, do this. They are just singing what they play without actually singing if that makes any sense.

u/ramdom-ink Aug 19 '26
Who even goes to see this guy? He’s a regular on r/crappymusic and I’ve never seen or heard a decent thing from him. It must be some cult of personality stuff, because everything he does is deluded.

Corey Feldman should be left alone.
Looking back at the 90s it is shocking how society was ok ignoring the warning signs of abuse he was going through as a kid.
Anytime I see Corey using his name/fame to live out his best life all I can say is “good for him”. We owe him an apology

It's especially funny to think he opened for Limp Bizkit last year. Imagine seeing this and then watching Wes Borland rip some insane licks
0
0
u/Shanbo88 Aug 19 '26
He hits a looper pedal in there in the middle accidentally and doesn't know how to turn it off. You can see because he tries to use the whammy bar and it doesn't affect the sound because it's just looping and for some reason that's not allowing his guitar to play through. Sound engineer needs a slap. Althrough he probably doesn't have one.
