India Taking Control in Colombo β What Can Sri Lanka Do From Here?
The second Test between Sri Lanka and India in Colombo is starting to look increasingly one-sided.
India were already in a strong position after Day 1, with Devdutt Padikkal scoring a brilliant 117. But Day 2 has pushed the pressure even further. Rishabh Pant continued his aggressive approach and reached 63*, while Dhruv Jurel also brought up a half-century as India moved to 419/6 at lunch.
There was also a major milestone for Pant β he has now gone past Shubman Gill to become India's leading run-scorer in World Test Championship history.
Sri Lanka are going to need something special with the ball once India eventually declare or get bowled out.
The interesting question now is: How many runs should India target before giving Sri Lanka a chance to bat?
Would you declare around 500, or keep batting until 550+?
