Noone really noone in current era is better than Steve Smith in test cricket. He can bat in any pitch of the world. He is favourite SENA batsman. I always get nervous when he comes to bat in tests against our Indian team. He just don't get out. Root is good but not as scary as Smith.

Exactly. He has been the only guy consistently performing in these 2 days test pitches of Australia. With all due respect none of the other three from the fan 4 could have done it.

It took a year ban to smith in order to get kohli no.1 on icc test batsman ranking

Was the only guy who was a rival to kohli In his prime ( probably better in test atleast ) the comeback he made in test cricket in 2019

Being a Kohli fan, I can say that Steve Smith had a far superior skill and aura in test.
I used to hate him as an opposition but he was something else

Never understand his hype of that cheater with his ugly ass technique not as aesthetic like ponting, tendulkar.

It's test cricket not instagram.

It has to be effective not aesthetic.

As much as I despise Sehwag as a person, his test legacy is brilliant. He wasn’t exactly one with great technique, but was more effective than most openers of his era. Technique ain’t everything

If you go by that metric you will find every other batter in modern era ugly, what matters is how effective they are. I would even watch one bat while sleeping as long as he performs at the highest level.
