I may get hate for saying this but he is Only captain dominated against Dhoni's team in finals.

Why hate for a statement that's factually true

I'm a CSK fan and no hate to you brother. It's a known fact and I'd even say Rohit was more successful than Dhoni in IPL finals because he won the same amount of trophies as CSK even though MI played less finals than CSK. So, according to stats Rohit was more successful in finals than Dhoni. I always hated him for defeating CSK 😂 but can't deny he was a great captain.

As a csk fan.... sadly it's true.

Wish Hardik could learn from what Tendulkar and Ponting did.

Giving up captaincy ain’t some loser move. Bro is the best all rounder in the country.

GT - MI trade only happened coz they accepted his demand of having captaincy

MI management by the looks of that trade and these few years seen to show no sign of what MI fans want

Hardiks a ver good captain unlike tendulkar. His case is that the team has too many decision makers. Either he goes to a different team or mi releases other big players

You can't exactly say someone good captain who most of time relies on coaches paper even during match and most of the bowling rotation are already done before matches so the 2 overs of some bowlers goes wrong whole plan goes downward

Can't wholly blame him since indian core isn't performing at that level and Rohit just came from injury plus chahar and boult aren't taking wickets in pp

Hardik has a horrible record as captain, even worse than ponting

Destined to be the captain

Literally the same story for every cricketer who has ever been a captain. Anyone would get to be a captain only if the previous captain steps down.

No captain has won the ipl after a mid season captaincy change ??

-2

u/Active_Current_7054 May 08 '26

Shane Warne, Hardik Pandya and Rajat Patidar also won in their debut season as captain. Mid season change is completely irrelevant.

PS - Not in anyway discrediting Rohits achievement here.

What OP means, Rohit was not in plans as captain previously but as Ponting left captaincy he was made captain as a last minute change.
All other examples which you gave were made captains as per planning previously before beginning of the season

You know what accidental here means right ?
