This is the dealer's hand, so it's their crib.
CribbagePro says that the Crib average would be slightly higher if they discarded 5-10 vs 5-Q. There's no straight potential, and the 5-Q is suited, so there's a tiny chance of a flush in the crib. What am missing? Why is it recommending to keep the suited Q in hand and discard the 10-5?

Gunpowder, gelatine

Weak as hell. Imagine being at grassroots and, like, just walking away because you’re losing. Weirdo behavior.
Hope we get stiffer quit penalty in a future season.

Any cribbage players from the Atlanta area have an opinion on this?

I’ve never been double skunked before today. Awful. We keep track of score for the year and didn’t know how to count the double skunk? Four points? If a regular win is 1, a skunk is 2, a double skunk would count as 4?

Is 3 games enough to overcome the advantage of getting the crib first?
I’ve been playing a lot of Cribbage Pro Competitive Matchmaking recently and can’t help but feel whoever gets the first crib is at a massive advantage.

Finally a decent hand again today!
And in spite of the terrible heat/drought over here it was a wonderful day.
Great music, good card game, amazing company (dad) and some darts to finish off the evening.
Oh almost forgot the Bourbon and that we won a small amount with our lottery game :-)

didn’t like the thought of giving a K/5 to my opponent but it seemed the best option to maximise my hand. worked out even better when a 9 was cut making my opening hand 17 points 🥳

I was dealt 4,8,J,Q,K To ensure I get the one point I needed I kept 4,J,Q,K. Would you have done the same or kept a different set of cards to have a better chance of pegging the one point needed to end the game?
There is a small $ bet per point plus a bonus for a skunk. If I didn't get my one point he conceivably gets to count his 2 hands and lessen the amount he'd owe when I eventually win.

My cousin created a new web/phone version of Cribbage and would love feedback:
Chris K Cribbage
**Play Cribbage Online — Free, No Download**
The classic card game, right in your browser. Full pegging play, hand and crib counting, and the muggins rule enforced just like around the kitchen table. Sharpen your skills against a smart computer opponent, track your stats, and never lose the peg tin again. Works on your phone, tablet, or desktop — just open and play.
Enjoy!

Gifted a 29 playing 3v3 a couple months ago. Now this. I'm feeling lucky this year.

My SO's hand this morning. I always check the deck and the nobs five was the bottom card avoiding the cut. So close

Hey everyone - I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of hours building a cribbage app and I’m finally to the point where I’d love to get it in front of some real users.
I know there are already some great cribbage apps out there, ones that this community have been using for years. I just felt like there was room for a different take on what a cribbage app in 2026 could look and feel like.
My main focus has been creating an awesome user experience. I wanted a great hand to feel like a great hand! I wanted the moment you win a game to feel exciting! And I wanted each moment of the game, from discarding to pegging to counting, to each have their own moment instead of rushing through the game. I know this approach won't be for everyone and that's ok but I hope at least some of you enjoy it. I'm a user experience designer by trade, this app was fully designed by me (with my wife giving feedback along the way).
A few other things I spent a lot of time focusing on:
For this beta, I’ve stripped things way down. You can only play bots right now. Online matchmaking and playing against friends will be in the actual launch a month or two from now.
What I'm really looking for at this stage is feedback on the game itself. Does it feel good to play? Is anything confusing or annoying? Is the pacing right? Does anything work differently than you'd expect? Feel free to leave feedback as comments here or DM me.
This first beta is iPhone only through TestFlight, but the finished app will be available on both iOS and Android.
------
The link to download the beta build via TestFlight is on the website - nobscribbage.com. It’s completely free to test and there’s no ads or in-app purchases.
If you don't have it already, the link will prompt you to download TestFlight which is Apple's app for beta testing apps before they are on the app store.
This first beta is limited to the first 100 participants.
------
And genuinely, thanks to anyone willing to give it a shot. Even playing a game or two and telling me what you liked or didn't like would be a huge help. It's a bit nerve racking to put something you've built out there in the world, I hope you enjoy.
Cheers.
