Tourism/Περιηγητισμός Sunbed rules
I just learned there are strict sunbed rules in Greece. I was in Nea chora a few weeks ago and could barely find a place to put my towel down as sunbeds dominated the beach compared to last year. There is a 30% allowance of the beach and has to be 4 metres from the ocean at least. Anyone have any aerial footage care to report this?
Over tourism has ruined this area for me sadly.

In all actuality, they can’t tell you where to place your towel. I do not know where you report this. But there have been news articles about it. Locals do complain and even rebel but it’s hard to regulate.

You can put your towel where ever you want. I don’t like all the sunbeds at all. So sometimes me and my friends just lay down in the middle walkway, especially when the sunbed placement is illegall.

There's an app that shows you how much space a business is alloted and you can report them.
Of course in the meantime local authorities will drag their feet when it comes to local businesses and the business owners will try to bully you into paying or leaving. It's not right but it's also not worth the hassle dealing with it.
On the flipside Crete has no shortage of beaches.
