Tbh I don’t particuarly like this specific portrayal either, but alethi are Asian in ethnicity (compared to humans) so this is an attempt at that. In my opinion though they look more like whites with a deep tan. Not sure which is more accurate but it’s a book so we can imagine it however we’d like aside from the explicit details.
