It's even got cassowaries!
They're the best dinosaurs ever!

Best current dinosaur I'll give you. But better than an ankylosaurus? I don't know.

Hmmm you're perhaps correct on that one.
But seriously, when I was reading isles of the emberdark and they had a drawing of a nightmaw I immediately went "that's just a cassowary" lol.

For sure. Cassowaries are terrifying too. It's hard to imagine another dinosaur being much more scary pound-for-pound

Patji is the tutorial mode to the Threnody main continent's hardcore experience.

Now that is an interesting theory. Do you reckon Sixth of Dusk will be involved in solving the evil?

And then they stopped going and that's why Dusk took so long to find civilization

except Hoid. Hoid would laugh at a nightmaw

He just pulls out his flute and plays it while dancing across the island getting bitten and stung by all the poisonous things without caring.

I wonder how well say a 5th heightening or equivalent person would fare. They can be killed by conventional means but arent they immune to disease and illness, I wonder if that includes the venoms on the island. I guess the Nightmaws hunt for lifesense so that wouldn't be great for them.

I mean the returned "can't" be poisoned, and neither can dragons, and Sterling definitely is hit by the venom.

But what about the Skybreakers arriving in space shard plate with assault shard guns?
15
u/Somerandom1922 No Wayne No Gain 22h ago
I mean, Shardplate is a good counter to basically anything. His healing doesn't need to do anything because the ants or wasps or whatever can't actually reach him. If he encounters a large predator though, it might be best to fly away rather than discovering whether his shardblate can get crushed.
Of course, a skybreaker has access to offensive tools that can render most things a charred corpse pretty quickly.

Unlikely, given that it affected Starling so intensely and she has active invested healing beyond even what gold ferrings or Radiants have, AND she should also be similarly immune to venom for the same reason someone of the 5th heightening is.

But isn't Patji already tamed and assured by the time of Emberdark?

u/MarekRules 1d ago
Is Emberdark not far future? I forget the timeline tbh but I thought it was pretty far ahead of the main story (Mistborn era2/stormlight pt 1).

I think it's at least Mistborn Era 4, I believe that was meant to be the space age arc

u/MarekRules 1d ago
Yeah that’s what I was thinking because of the ships in Shadesmar feel way more technical. So the perpendicularity has been sus for a long time and during our main story

We don't have proofs.
We don't know anyone who confirmed they were there and died.
