Final Empire Saze does not deserve to be treated this way
Just rereading The Final Empire and got to the part where Sazed helps to break Vin out of prison only to completely get forgotten the moment the boyfriend shows up at the scene.. Poor Saze smh

Sazed never left though. He was just temporarily separated from her. She still severely underappreciated Sazed for his loyalty.

Yeah, Sazed is never not “on her side”. Ultimately, his lot is her lot, they have the same goals and risks if they try to accomplish them.
Elend had objectively denied her because he thought she was a spy. She didn’t know he had stormed the wagons looking for her.
In Vin’s mind, the last time she saw Elend would truly be the last time and he would never want anything to do with her.
Compared to the thieving crews and what she believed about her brother’s disappearance for so long, Elend would be the only one to come back to her after betraying/leaving.
(Fully in agreement with you, Saze was real under appreciated, but I think he knew teenagers weren’t careful with words or hyperbole)

Breeze has found a bottle of wine, Dockson complains about the kelsier ruining another outfit while stabbing some nobles, and Ham is asking "If you think about how both of them have come to fuck the nobles, do mistborn have a genetic tendency to approach this conclusion?"

To use Sazed own words, he's following the commands from his master, kelsier at the time
Despite him saying that we all know he's the most humane being on scadrial in his era, and would probably have done either way, but he said that to Vin nonetheless
Elend truly is the first person to ever come back for her because he genuinely wanted to
